2 six pack for 10.99 special from John’s Grocery in Iowa City. Aroma is sweet with floral esters, no hop aroma. Looks great in the glass. Flavor is sweet, low bitterness and no hop flavor. Lack real German Pils flavor. No melinoidans, no hops. Chewy yet attenuated. Really one dimensional and uninteresting.

Pour is a bright gold with a large white head. Aroma is very grainy with some sweetness and honey. Flavor is very bland and watery. Kinda wet paper bag all over. Nothing really exciting.

Tasting at Johnny"s Sidebar. This beer pours a clear gold with no head and no visible carbonation. Not much nose. Flavor was honey and corn and some decent effervescence in the mouth was noted.

Pours golden with light carbonation and quickly fading frothy head. Looks kinda flat. Smells floral, earthy and damp and sweet. Quite sweet with a metallic finish and notes of honey. Not my style, so to speak, but not bad. Not sure I like the cheap tasting aftertaste. Palate is light, bubbly.

Bottle. The pale gold colored body was topped with a thin white head. A grainy bread smell with a hint of raw potatoes. There was also some black pepper. The taste was potato skins with some bread crust. A weird orange cream note in the finish. I would like more hops to add a little character. Boring more than anything.

Bottle from Zekes. Light yellow and a small light head. Some typical light hop aromas and flavors. Nothing much to write home about. Very standard aromas and flavors.

Pale straw colour. Spicy hop taste with a light, refreshing character. Very herbal. Typical German pils but a bit thin. Bottle @ Zeke’s.
