Braven Apostel Tripel

(bottle, 33cl) Hazy, golden to amber colour with a big and blond foamy head. Sweet and slightly yeasty bready malty aroma with notes of biscuits, rather delicate fruity accents and soapy (coriander?) spices. Sweet flavour, almost full bodied with a moderate carbonation. Solid biscuity-malty base with candy, light fruity and moderately spicy notes; sweet and slightly bitter finish with a tinge of alcohol and present spices. 01.XI.09

Bottle at ØLbaren - Thanks ??. Cloudy yellow - white head. Phenols, high yeasty, licorice zesty, light sweetness, honey, yeasty, flowery, herbal, fruity, light grainy.

Botella. Hazy golden orange colour. Good creamy white head. Fruity sweet yeasty aroma. Quite sweet fruity and malty flavour with some grains and yeast.

33 cL bottle, courtesy of KimJohansen. Pours hazy orange with a huge light tan head. Malty, light oxidised and phenolic aroma. Light metallic flavoured, dry phenolic, caramelish and with a light sweetness before the finish. Lasting dry phenolic note. Mild fruity sweet finish.

Hazy deep golden with a huge beige head. Sweet malty aroma with overripe fruits, caramel and yeasty notes. Sweet yeasty flavour with yeast, overripe fruits and malty notes. Finished sweet.

33cl bottle from Dranken Geers. Gold, lots of floaters make it look unattractive to drink, thick rocky white head. Perfumed tripel aroma. A little syrupy. A little soapy on the aroma, but some decent hop on the finish too. The problem with picking up 96 new beers all in one go, is that you do get a number of beers of the same kind and some are a lot better than others. It’s actually ok with the hoppiness coming through on the finish.

Bottle (330ml). Via trade with glouglouburp. Holy crap, this is FULL of large white chunkies ... but I’m brave, I’ll drink it. Clear gold, average fizzy white head. Rich, biscuity aroma, sweet cookies and soft ripe fruit - banana, light citrus, pineapple, a bit of sweet Rhinewine in there too - moderately strong alcohol presence. The taste is a simple tripel - very sweet and yeasty, pear and mango, medium alcohol, and quite a grassy bitterness to it as well. Thick, syrupy mouthfeel, quite a long malty finish to it - by the end I felt I was almost choking it down. Nice though - could have more carbonation.
