In short: A roasted and very woody dark ale with chocolate notes. Decent.
How: Tap at brewpub
The look: Near black body topped by a beige ring of foam
In long: Nose is bourbonny with notes of chocolate. Body is lean and carbonation is a bit lifeless. Tasted is roasted, toasted cookies, brown sugar, chocolate and very woody (but not very bourbonny). Overall the beer tastes like chocolate chips cookies and burnt wood. An ok beer but far from my favourite Brays. I cannot say how the regular Mont Pleasant compares to this BA version because they only had the BA version when I visited the pub. A decent but forgettable beer. But he, I told my girlfriend I’d take her to Naples. And I did. I am now starting to get used to sleeping on the couch.
