Intereting flavor of peated malt and chocolate, the peat is mild though. The body is medium with a creamy texture and gentle carbonation. TaktikMTL (2786), Montréal-Nord, Quebec, Canada
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 22, 2008 En fût. (Rating #1705) MartinT (5068), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 20, 2008 My Bottom Line:
Roasted dryness and bitterness tags along subtle smokiness in this svelte and unassuming Porter.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam protects the brown-sleeved black.
-The body is relatively lean and aims at high drinkability.
-The smokiness is well integrated, but not present enough for my tastes in the style.
-The finishing roasted malt bitterness dries up the back end, but reminds you there wasn’t much malty sweetness to begin with.
On tap at the brewpub.
