Aroma of hops and malt. Taste of malt, hops, citrus, and some alcohol. This medium bodied brew is pretty tasty and nicely balanced. One of the better brews from Breckenridge. Nice job. That being said, The extra ESB has a strong hop presence that balances out the biscuit like maltiness. The alcohol presence is clear, but not overpowering. HonkeyBra (1361), Lemont, Illinois, USA

This is one of the worst things I’ve ever consumed. Rancid malt aroma with some hops, Taste is all rancid malt. Drain poured this turd. jkwalking05 (1485), Arlington, Texas, USA

Aroma of fruit, malt, sugar, hop. Taste is very malty, with nice bitterness, fruit, caramel, nut coming through. Finish has hop bitterness. Mouth is full and enjoyable. Overall, a very nice, satisfying brew. CaryTheDude (1113), Longmont, Colorado, USA

Don’t wanna be mean in front of the guy who gave it to me, but here I can slam it. It sucked balls! DrnkMcDermott (1861), Downers Grove, Illinois, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 28, 2008 12 oz. bottle. Big brown beer pour, thin head. Darker than expected from ESB’s. Heavy malt smell plays with phenols, but that may just be my reaction to its big grain bill. Taste is just fine, though. First sip lets me feel all of its alcohol, in a good way, and has a nice nose of many many English hops. Chewy caramel malts finish dry on the tongue, sticky sweet on the lips. A fine beer that I hope comes around again. ajm (950), Los Angeles, California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 16, 2008 Bottle from Papago. Quite a thick ESB. Feels like a Dogfish 90. I drank this a little warmer than I usually drink ESB, and I think there was a bit more hop and malt profile here to consider, so good thing I did. Light nuttiness is what sets it apart most, sourdough crust has its say. Not quite the caramel sweetness I look for, but good balance. Rather like a duller pale.
