Jun 29, 2008 Nutty, dark caramel, mild roast, and rich British malt are balanced by herbal and earthy hops. I no idea this was such a large beer when I got it, but it seems nimble for a cruiserweight.

Jun 28, 2008 I’m not a fan of the brewery but this one has a vanilla-esque buttery quality which seems to please me despite some wetness interfering with what is mostly a dry palatte and way too much butter. I like the warming malt sensation but the butter makes me wonder if its cold enough.

Jun 24, 2008 Tawny colored w/ tan head. Aroma is pretty sweet, some toast and hint of spice hops. Flavor is very sweet, followed by alcohol and again a hint of spice hops. Doesn’t taste like an ESB to me, but I suppose that’s what they were going for. Not entirely sure I’d buy another 6 pack of this, but it was a fun experiment.

Jun 19, 2008 Pours a grayish brown with fine bubbles rising to a moderate head. Aroma of malt, caramel, hint of hops. Taste is all sweet malt, also some roasted caramel, some sort of vegetable flavor???, with bitterness at the finish that was somewhat unpleasant and medicine-like. The alcohol is not well-hidden in this one at all. Not one of my favorites.

Jun 2, 2008 This ESB pours a deep brown color from a 12oz bottle. Medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is bready malts and some piney hops. A medium bodied ESB. The malts are bready and caramel. The hops are earthy and floral. Nice balance. Good carbonation. A nice ESB, it starts out malty and sweet and finishes crisp and dry. Would make a nice session beer if it weren’t
7.8 % alcohol. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

May 21, 2008 The beer pours a clear dark amber with a touch of copperiness. The head is made up of fine bubbles that give it a creamy texture. The beer smells of hops, caramel roasted malt and rich floral notes. The mouth feel is rich and creamy the beer taste of malts, sweetness and hops. Well balanced with a lasting bitter finish.

Apr 25, 2008 Bottle thanks to ChainGangGuy: Pours a transparent mahogany brown with a thin, finely-lacing off-white head. Aroma of sweet doughy, bready malts and some earthy piny English hops. Body starts fairly full with a decent sweetness and mildly citrusy bittering hoppy bite. Finishes crisp and bittersweet with a lingering drier bitterness. A pretty nice ESB.

Apr 23, 2008 A beer Dracula would love, it pours a thick blood red with a dense off-white head. Aroma and flavor, however, are subtle and mostly sweet. Caramel, toffee, brown sugar, and honey linger on the palate. Tasty but not "extra" as the title suggests.
