Commercial Description:
Extra, extra? You better believe it. We like to say it’s double extra special. The balance of malt and hops makes it truly one-of-a-kind. Warming malt notes at the onset with a hop kick in the back and opens up to a nice dry finish. Our small batch ESB is a big, strong traditional ale with characteristics that break tradition and a complexity that constantly surprises.

I bought one of these to sample and wish I had a sixer now. The beer pours out of the bottle a creme soda color, somewhat clear. When it settles in the glass the color changes to dark cherry, with a tint of red. The aroma is heavenly and reminds me of sasparilla. The first sip is delicious with a stong hop flavor that is smooth and doesn’t bite. As you drink it, the bitterness comes out more and more. That’s why they call it an ESB though, right?

Red-amber with good, creamy, tan head / Medium body, very creamy, some sweetness and a hoppy bite on the good finish / Flavors of burnt sugar, brown sugar, orange, grapefruit, and pine / Outstanding. Could just as well be an American pale ale.

Had this as part of a Breckenridge tasting event. Brown pour with little whitish head. You can smell the ESB. Lots of caramel tones, and some notes of pine. I love the taste, probably my favorite Breckinridge so far. Robust and smooth, my favorite ESB yet.

an extra extra special bitter? i love esb’s but i wasn’t expecting much coming from this brewery, which frankly puts out some really low end stuff!...

pours a dark rust golden shimmer brown ...
lacing is quite outstanding. the aroma is very nice too. belgian malt, toffee, dark honey, chocolate.. very good in the nose

the mouthfeel is abit thin but for a 7.8 beer, i am happy, glides down the throat and leaves a good aftertaste!

a shock brew from this brewery that has never wow’ed me, well, this beer is a saving grace and honestly, a pure joy to drink!

The beer emerges from the 12-ounce bottle a luminous brown, the head large and a creamy light tan, as it fades away, the lacing provides a thin veil upon the glass. Nose has a rich malt sweetness, caramel and “ La Touche Finale”, a hint of floral spiciness. Start is nicely malted, sweet with a hop bite at the back, top is moderate in feel. Finish continues the malty sweetness, the acidity peaceful. As it warms to the glass and room, the hops really “POP” out, a bit of a “Rogue” as ESB’s go, but I like it.

Amber color with a small, but long lasting, beige head. Aroma and flavor of hops, caramel malt and toffee.

This ESB pours a deep brown color from a 12oz bottle. Medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is bready malts and some piney hops. A medium bodied ESB. The malts are bready and caramel. The hops are earthy and floral. Nice balance. Good carbonation. A nice ESB, it starts out malty and sweet and finishes crisp and dry. Would make a nice session beer if it weren’t 7.8 % alcohol. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

This beer pours a deep brown/amber with a small white head that dissipates very quickly leaving some good lacing down the sides. This beer has a faint smoked maltiness on the nose but very faint also kinda buttery smelling. The flavors in this beer really meld together well. Even though this beer is a little more on the malty side for an esb the hops do balance well with it! I think this is one of the better american esbs I’ve had! I really like this one! Cheers!
