Fruit flavor overpowers this IPA and does not allow the hops to come through too much. Not my preferred style of an IPA, but is different than most and pretty tasty. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 9, 2009 Bottle pours clear orange with off white head. Aroma is citrus, pine, and some malt sweetness. Tastes like grapefruit, grass, and finishes with a grassy sweetness. Overall a good brew, just not my favorite because I don’t care for the grassy notes in this style. bierkoning (6103), La Tropica, Netherlands
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 9, 2009 Bottle from FlacoAlto, thanks! Orange color. Grapefruit, melon and pineapple and oily hops in the aroma and flavor. Very fruity IPA, almost pushing away the hops, although this beer is heavily hopped. Some alcohol. Lovely IPA. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 8, 2009 Pours a golden-orange color with a thick 1.5 inches of head. Aroma is all hops, with citrus, pine and earthy hop notes. Flavor starts off with a bit of a citrus flavor, moves into a slight pine bitter middle and finishes with some Munich malt and alcohol flavor. One of my favorite beers. I can only find this in bombers now but I can recall seeing this in six packs about 2 years ago. Tripplebrew (503), Saint Paul, Minnesota, USA

Purchased at: Hulmeville Inn for $7.00
Aroma: A pine forest with a grapefruit juice truck spill. Delicious.
Visuals: Very nice packaging, inviting, well designed. Hazy thick orange deep body with long lasting, thin white head and thin soapy lace.
Taste: Grapefruit, pine, resin, and hops.
Palate: Thick start with a bitter middle and finish. No crispness. Very much an IPA, and extremely so. Delicious.
Overall: A very good beer, a great example of an DIPA, and a delicious pairing compliment.
