Commercial Description:
Hoppy? Brother, 471 redefines hoppy. 471 is a small batch, limited edition ale that was created by our Brewmaster to separate the weak from the strong. 471 is a double IPA, that combines Pale, Munich, Caramel-30, Carapils and Torrified Wheat malts, with Chinook, Centennial, Simcoe and Fuggles hops. It has a big sweet mouthfeel, followed by more hoppiness than you've ever had at one time. Enjoy. (Available at Breckenridge Pubs and Restaurants and bottled as 471 Small Batch Double Hopped IPA.)

Bottle @ home. Pours in golden with a tinge of orange. The aroma was citrus (grapefruit/pine) followed by thick caramel malts. As it opened up the pine and floral hops really took over. The flavor was light caramel and citrus up front that was walloped by super bitter pine hoppiness. The finish was slightly bitter and hoppy. Mouth feel was medium to light. Very nice DIPA.

This tasty draft had a golden color and a small rocky head. The aroma is strong of citrus from the hops. The flavor is piney and bitter and prickles the tongue. Nice dry finish. A nice double IPA,

Thanks to Marc for this one. Hazy golden body with a fluffy beige head produced, leaving filmy traces of bubbles on the glass. The aroma has a lot of caramel blended with the citrus and hops. The flavor is persistently malty with a delicate hoppy bitterness coming through, and a light detectable metallic twinge in the finish.

a hugely drinkable brew for its strength, it has cloudy copper appearance with off white head. the typical grapefruit aroma anchors the nose and the flavor is straight forward: hops. the mailt profile balances the brew well without being too cloying.

Pours a clear, orangey color with a creamy, eggshell white, moderate head; it has a good lasting ability and some sporatic lace. Nose is tangerine, light orange peel, light pine, dank, whisps of alcohol, and faint notes of biscuits. Flavor is similar with tangerine, grassy notes, light pine resins, light white grapefruit peel, and a sweet bread note. Bitterness is moderately high and a moderately light alcohol warmth is noted throughout. Palate is medium, lively, and balanced between oily, dry, and crisp notes. Finishes somewhat dry and bitter with grassy notes, light pine resins, and lingering tangerine notes. A nice stronger IPA but lacks some of the malt depth of an IIPA. More like a more highly alcoholic and higher hopped IPA and less like an IIPA.

Golden honey color with a nice orange head and good carbonation. Oily sticky lacing and the head is never less than half an inch. Huge hop aroma with grapefruit and pine. Hop also dominates the flavor but it is fairly well balanced with sweet malt. Caramel, grass floral notes, grapefruit, pine, and bread. Not being a hop-head, I found this to be a very drinkable IIPA because of nice amounts of balancing malts.

Pours golden amber with few bubbles and a sudsy/creamy off-white head. Lovely citrus hop aroma, smells kind of salty and a bit of pine. Ha... that is an interesting flavor. Soapy bitterness with some caramel malts at first. Not a lot of carbonation..kinda flat and dull in the mouth. This is hop juice regardless of what Two Brothers thinks. Modest amount of grapefruit, pineapple and caramel malts.... pretty sweet and sugary. Pretty dry finish, although the alcohol is kinda nasty. Maybe mine isn’t fresh... the hops don’t perk my cheeks at all =p. Good beer... just a few minor flaws.
