Commercial Description:
Hoppy? Brother, 471 redefines hoppy. 471 is a small batch, limited edition ale that was created by our Brewmaster to separate the weak from the strong. 471 is a double IPA, that combines Pale, Munich, Caramel-30, Carapils and Torrified Wheat malts, with Chinook, Centennial, Simcoe and Fuggles hops. It has a big sweet mouthfeel, followed by more hoppiness than you've ever had at one time. Enjoy. (Available at Breckenridge Pubs and Restaurants and bottled as 471 Small Batch Double Hopped IPA.)

Above average IPA but nothing great and worth repeating. Keep it in small batches would be the best bet. Some nice hop aromas and flavors, citrusy all around, just not enough balance in it to be standoutish.

Very nice pour. Orange pour with a small head. Nice hoppy aroma. Clean hoppy taste with smooth finish. Some citrus orange flavor noted.

Sampled from a 12oz bottle. Pours an amber-color with a white head. Aroma is a hoppy, citrus, floral one. Flavor is a nice hope, malt, and slight bitterness to it. Alcohol is pretty well masked.

12oz bottle. Amber-orange color, relatively transparent. Sweet and fresh hop aroma. Taste is full of hoppy bitterness and malt sweetness. The alcohol is clearly there but never dominates or overwhelms. The hoppy taste is very complex, not just a cascade monstrosity. A great beer for the hopheads.

A good drinkable beer. I don’t know about redefining hoppy as the literature purports, but it’s certainly got some hops in it. But it’s well balanced with a nice smooth follow through. At 9.2%, the alcohol is surprisingly absent, which I give them extra credit for.

Bottle. Pours a rusty orange with medium off white head with good retention. Aroma of sweet malt, Alot of hoppy floral, and even hoppy bitterness. Flavor kicks hard, Starts really sweet malt, then hop flavor, then bitter, with fresh bitter aftertaste that lingers on tounge. Full bodied with medium carbonation.

Pour - where’s the head? it seems as though there is no carbonation in this one. It tastes better then most from the style. I felt the taste went from tangerine nose to complete pine hops on the back, and not much middle to even it out. I must say that I was expecting more from this IPA. At least the after taste is good.
