Commercial Description:
Hoppy? Brother, 471 redefines hoppy. 471 is a small batch, limited edition ale that was created by our Brewmaster to separate the weak from the strong. 471 is a double IPA, that combines Pale, Munich, Caramel-30, Carapils and Torrified Wheat malts, with Chinook, Centennial, Simcoe and Fuggles hops. It has a big sweet mouthfeel, followed by more hoppiness than you've ever had at one time. Enjoy. (Available at Breckenridge Pubs and Restaurants and bottled as 471 Small Batch Double Hopped IPA.)

Pours light amber, tending toward yellow looks like a great american pale ale. Head is minimal. The taste is dominated by hops mostly bittering like a grapefruit, but without the balancing sweetness of other IIPAs. All in all a nice brew. Much more than I expected from Breckenridge.

Light amber pour with average off-whiet head. Good nose of citrus, with some sweetness to it. Flavor is big on hops, a lot of grapefruit almost blood orange bitterness to it. Then the balance of malt hits and cleans up to the nice bitter hoppy finish.

Bottle. Pours a perfect amber color with a thin white head. Aroma was fantastic filled with hops and citrus fruits. The taste starts off with a sweet malt flavor that quickly fads into tart hoppy heaven. This is a wonderful imperial ipa with one drawback, it’s sticky. It’s none the less a beer that I enjoyed and one that I will have again.

I’m not a lover of the standard unbalanced and overhopped American DIPA... but I loved this one. Wonderful balance in this brew - not just adding hops for the sake of adding hops. Beautiful finish and an excellent brew.

On tap at The Gingerman: Rice Village. Pours a golden orange color with a small head that faded fast. Smells of hops with a distinctly plant like overtone, pungent like oil. Tastes of citrus hops and plant, ends on a bitter note that leaves the tongue dry.
