Commercial Description:
Hoppy? Brother, 471 redefines hoppy. 471 is a small batch, limited edition ale that was created by our Brewmaster to separate the weak from the strong. 471 is a double IPA, that combines Pale, Munich, Caramel-30, Carapils and Torrified Wheat malts, with Chinook, Centennial, Simcoe and Fuggles hops. It has a big sweet mouthfeel, followed by more hoppiness than you've ever had at one time. Enjoy. (Available at Breckenridge Pubs and Restaurants and bottled as 471 Small Batch Double Hopped IPA.)

Slightly cloudy deep orange pour with decent head. Piney and floral aromas and tastes dominate. Not bad... smooth for 9.2%. Overall a little too bitter and soapy for me.

Aroma: Fusel alcohol and bittering hops. Appearamce: Pours thick and clear with a nice 1/2 inch head. Flavor: Thick hop juice but all on the bittering side, not much defined hop flavor or aroma. Palate: Sticky, syrup, bitter Overall: This would be a lot better if they used more aroma hops and dry hops and lowered the ferment temp to avoid the hot alcohols that are present. Overall disapointing.

Pours a light golden amber color with medium head and limited lace retention. The smell is mostly piney with malty and citrus under tones. The hops are not overwhelming but definitely present. The taste is a sweet & smoother for the ABV. A nice bitter bite at the top but quickly melds with a pleasant malt backing. This is more of an English style IPA feel as the hop blend. Overall I thought this was a good beer but being a hop head I just wanted more aroma and less bittering hops and very smooth for a 9% beer.

Bottle courtesy Ian. Pours out a cloudy amber with a thick white head. Aroma is big and malty with a powerful balance of hops. Taste is malty with lots of caramel malt, very big body. Lots of hops straining to balance all of that malt. Nice bitter aftertaste.

Bottle. Pours a light orange amber with a moderate off-white head, nice lacing. Malts and a grassy hops in the nose. Resinous hops with citric and floral notes. Quite bitter in the finish with a hint of sweetness. Dry nice flavor. Foamy and mouthfilling with a lingering bitterness that is a bit puckering.

Floral and fruity hop over tone. Some bitter under tone to it. Hazy orange/yellowish color, very bitter, amazing. Floral taste. Piney after taste. Bitterness really stays for a while. Very good double ipa.
