Hazy orange/yellowish color, very bitter, amazing. Floral taste. Piney after taste. Bitterness really stays for a while. Very good double ipa. maniac4016 (114), bill clinton, Iceland

Has that beautiful DIPA aroma that I’ve come to love. I remember this brew being fairly balanced, and not too much kick in the teeth as far as a DIPA goes, which is really nice sometimes! Overall this fits the style, and drinks well!! inultus (16), Lansing, Michigan, USA

Wonderfully balanced, great mouth and flavor, plus a huge kick in the pants. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 8, 2008 Pours slightly hazy light ambercolor with thin creamy white head. Aroma is clean and hoppy citrus and pine and some sweet bread as well. Flavor has a smooth, even bitterness with lots of pine, toasted malt and a light hint of caramel. Nicely balanced. Creamy texture, medium bodied. markgugs (86), Wood Ridge, New Jersey, USA

A: A rich rusty copper with a bubbly white 1-finger head. Beautiful clarity and I’m not sure I’ve ever seen this much sticky lacing. Very inviting.
S: The only drawback to this beer was that none of the delicious flavors came out in the aromatics. All I got was mild, citrus hops and the barest hint of malt.
T/M: Now THIS is what I want out of a double IPA. This beer snuck up on me with its amazing balance, I kept looking at the glass in awe, and then taking another big gulp. The lip-smacking & mouth-watering that ensued after each swallow made this disappear in a hurry. Biscuity malts blend perfectly with rich, juicy citric hops, delivering an awesomely bitter finish that simply beckons another sip.
D: For all the super-hyped DIPAs out there, this 471 gets no credit amongst the "big boys," but easily stands among them. And 9.2% ABV? Come on, it can’t be! This beer is dangerous.
