Commercial Description:
Hoppy? Brother, 471 redefines hoppy. 471 is a small batch, limited edition ale that was created by our Brewmaster to separate the weak from the strong. 471 is a double IPA, that combines Pale, Munich, Caramel-30, Carapils and Torrified Wheat malts, with Chinook, Centennial, Simcoe and Fuggles hops. It has a big sweet mouthfeel, followed by more hoppiness than you've ever had at one time. Enjoy. (Available at Breckenridge Pubs and Restaurants and bottled as 471 Small Batch Double Hopped IPA.)

A hazed orange pour with soft fluffy head. An aroma of evergreen and sweet fruitiness almost apple but not. Slight citrus flavor with fruit. A rich semi sweet flavor with a good finishing bitter. Mouthfeel is very full with smooth carbonation. A good beer if you like sweet full bodied IPA’s. Not bad at all.

I absolutely love this beer! 22 oz bomber poured a pale orange with no head. Great citrusy grapefruit aroma followed by the same taste with a lot of piney hops. great finish, sitting on my tonguew for some time

Pours thick and with no head. That still freaks me out man. No head? Nose is strong hops. Piney syrupy hops. Pretty pungent, but not real overwhelming or overdone. Odd flavor profile here. I get that typical mass hopped thing going on, but I also get some apple flavors going on. Really odd carbonation thing going on. This just doesn’t seem right or balanced to me. This seems like it has champagne attributes, but I don’t think it is intentional. Overall I have to say this was not as good as I hoped it would be. Weird balance, or lack thereof just makes this an almost jumbled mess of potential. A miss in my book.

Pours a deep copper into the glass with a small white head. Aroma is full of grapefruit and other citrus scents. Taste is nice and clean hops and citrus. I am AMAZED that this beer clocks in at 9.2%. The alcohol is EXTREMELY well hidden and quite enjoyable.

Had it on tap at Flying Saucer. Aroma was strong of hops. Flavor was a bit of a let down, a bit bland, typical bitter ipa flavor. I had no idea the alcohol was so high.

Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy orange with a one finger mostly lasting white head that leaves good lacing. Aroma of citrus, floral, and earthy hops, with a hint of caramel, and light sweet fruit. Taste is the same as aroma. Medium full mouthfeel with a strong but well balanced amount of bitterness with a touch of warm but never hot alcohol. Very good.

Poured a copper color into the glass. I have seen this on the shelf for a long time now and finally got around to trying it. Smell had more of a malt backbone than a lot of DIPA’s, but still all the hops. Taste also has a strong malt component, makes me wonder how old the bottle is. Nonetheless, plenty of bitter hops and citrus. Not a ton of complexity here but still worth a shot.

12oz, man, this is a nice bright citrus flavor IPA, then the bitterness hits me, and i really enjoyed this, its a light brown, with off white head, the smell is very very bright, citrus which lured me into the bottle, the 9.2% is hidden fairly well i think....not bad, very enjoyable.
