Commercial Description:
Hoppy? Brother, 471 redefines hoppy. 471 is a small batch, limited edition ale that was created by our Brewmaster to separate the weak from the strong. 471 is a double IPA, that combines Pale, Munich, Caramel-30, Carapils and Torrified Wheat malts, with Chinook, Centennial, Simcoe and Fuggles hops. It has a big sweet mouthfeel, followed by more hoppiness than you've ever had at one time. Enjoy. (Available at Breckenridge Pubs and Restaurants and bottled as 471 Small Batch Double Hopped IPA.)

12 oz bottle. Bought a sixer based on RateBeer reviews. (Gotta love Internet access via Blackberry!) <P>Pours a medium amber, about the same color as the bottle containing it. Almost brilliantly clear, had a thin head and white ring around the glass with pretty lacing throughout. Smelled some piney resin but not overwhelming, with a tiny bit of malty aroma. Taste was very pleasantly bitter, somewhat sweet, with nice hop flavor (citrusy grapefruit and orange). I don’t taste the Fuggles at all. Malts are there but subtle. I especially like the fact that the beer isn’t overdosed with sweet malts, etc. It’s well balanced. Overall, a very nice double IPA that I would certainly enjoy again!

This is a well done IPA, but I’m not crazy about it. Very grapefruity and citrusy, astringent, etc. I don’t really dig that kind of IPA as much, I’m more into the flowery kind.

A gift from my buddy Ross, thanks man! Pours out a copper colored orange with a light orange and thick head. Aroma is very citrusy and pine, a weird tingle occured in my nose when I smelled this and I enjoyed it. Once you take a sip of this brew, caramel and biscuit flavors come out due to the malts as well as a touch of brown sugar. Hold on though, because soon after your pallate takes a smack of piney hops in this roller coaster of a beer. Not the best IIPA I’ve had but I would certainly have this again if offered. Well done Breckenridge!!!!

BIG sweet hoppiness!! Simple enough right? Very sweet grapefruit notes throughout...my palate and these type of IPAs just do not agree....hop heads rejoice!

on tap at Taco Mac (John’s Creek). deep golden color with minimal head. slight hoppy/apricot aromas (wish the aromas were a bit stronger). medium body, hoppy and full of apricot and some peach. More fruity than your typical IIPA. An excellent brew, but wish the hops came through a bit more...

Pours clear orange-gold with a minimal white head. Biscuits, oranges, grapefruit, and caramel in the nose. Smooth, creamy mouthfeel. Sweet grapefruit hops up front that move into a resiny bitterness. A caramel/candy sugar-like sweetness follows, which gets somewhat unpleasant towards the end. Seems to emmulate Lagunitas’ Maximus in the sweetness. I wanted more hop bite, but this was still good.
