Commercial Description:
Hoppy? Brother, 471 redefines hoppy. 471 is a small batch, limited edition ale that was created by our Brewmaster to separate the weak from the strong. 471 is a double IPA, that combines Pale, Munich, Caramel-30, Carapils and Torrified Wheat malts, with Chinook, Centennial, Simcoe and Fuggles hops. It has a big sweet mouthfeel, followed by more hoppiness than you've ever had at one time. Enjoy. (Available at Breckenridge Pubs and Restaurants and bottled as 471 Small Batch Double Hopped IPA.)

Oh wow fantastic! Pours an nice red orange color with a puffy pocked head. Smells strongly of ruby red grapefruits. Tastes like grapfruit and hops and malt. Very well balananced. Maybe my favorite DIPA. *Note I don’t like most brekenridge beer and this one breaks the mold!. Bravo

Bomber - Poured a hazy darkish orangish amber in color with a small white head that quickly faded to a rim a round the glass. Aroma is a nice mix of malty sweetness and flowery hops. Flavor is quite hoppy, but the bitterness is nicely balanced by the hefty amount of malt. Alcohol is very well hidden. Mildly bitter finish. The mix of flavors is a bit unusual for a IIPA, but it was enjoyable none the less.

Frankly IPA is not my cup of tea and this was no different. Far, far too hoppy for my taste. Over-carbonated and frankly over-powering. It does have a distinguished flavor though, so points for that. I’ll take it over a generic any day.

Had this beer on 6/12/2005. Aroma is full of a nice fresh hop scent. Color is a nice gold with a slight haze and light carbonation. Taste is heavy, crisp and very hoppy. Starting with a full body that goes down with a heavy, yet crisp. Finish comes on with a sharp feel full of hop flavor followed by a mild bitterness. Its a bit rich and not as balanced as I think an IPA should be.

Very nice and hoppy. Nice dark appearance. Not as many flavors as some IIPA’s, or it might just be to many to get them all.

Clear golden body with a small, off-white head. Aroma is sweet with notes of floral, grapefruit and caramel. Nice mix of floral and citrus hops. Flavor is mostly sweet with bitter finish. Medium body and somewhat watery texture. Moderate carbonation. Alcohol comes through somewhat in the finish, though it’s well hidden. Solid, tasty double IPA though not very complex. Still, the best offering I’ve had from this brewery.

Truly hoppy, but with a sweet finish of spice and caramel. Nice color and pour, with a head that quickly disappears. Pretty good brew overall, but there’s much better out there for this style.

Pours a medium clean gold / copper with a small quickly fading head. Aroma is piney hops, light grapefruit and malts. Wow this is a bitter brew. Pine, hops, caramel malts, citrus in the flavor and most of it is bitter and quite dry. No complaints here.
