Commercial Description:
Hoppy? Brother, 471 redefines hoppy. 471 is a small batch, limited edition ale that was created by our Brewmaster to separate the weak from the strong. 471 is a double IPA, that combines Pale, Munich, Caramel-30, Carapils and Torrified Wheat malts, with Chinook, Centennial, Simcoe and Fuggles hops. It has a big sweet mouthfeel, followed by more hoppiness than you've ever had at one time. Enjoy. (Available at Breckenridge Pubs and Restaurants and bottled as 471 Small Batch Double Hopped IPA.)

Bottle. As a side note, that last poster must not have been reviewing the right beer. This is a GREAT IPA with the typical IPA color and pour. Citrus aroma and very strong hop flavor makes this IPA big, strong, and enjoyable. This is a big beer with a big alcohol content...couldn’t imagine having more then 2 or 3 of these. This was a great find at Party Source in Newport, Kentucky....especially since this is a small batch. Great beer to try if you are having that hop craving.

Bottle. I quite liked this one. Pours a beautiful rich copper amber with nice sticky white lacing. Nose of bright grapefruit and oily pine with some sweet malt. Rick and oily on the palate with notes of pine resin, tangerine, grapefruit, caramel malt and orange peel. Finish sweet oily piny hops.

Brownish-orange with small white head. Aroma fruity/flowery hops with some caramely malt. First sip was fairly unpleasant as there was a rather unexpected syrupy sweetness. Aftertaste also initially unpleasantly bitter. Got considerably better as it warmed and the flavors melded together better. Still way sweeter than I’d like for the style.

Draught: Aroma is lightly sweet. Smells floral and hoppy with strong notes of grapefruit and a bit of caramel. Poured amber in color with a medium-sized off-white head that diminished slowly. Small lacing. Sparkling. Hazy. Flavor was medium bitter. Tasted of grapefruit, pine, hops, and caramel malt. Medium body. Sticky texture. Lively carbonation. Hoppy but not very bitter finish. Overall, kinda average. Boring but not bad. On the sweeter side for a IIPA.

On tap at Capone’s. Pours a lightly hazy golden orange with a small off white creamy/lacing head. Aroma of caramel, nuts, orange and some pine. Nice hop/sweet malt nose. Flavor of malty sweet caramel malt, pine, grapefruit and a good bit of orange.

Light orange colored, medium sized yellow head. Cloudy appearance. Rich aroma indeed: strong fruits, flowers and hoppy bitterness, some yeast also there. Medium to full bodied. Flavor is even richer with this fruity tone, nicely drying aftertaste with still some fruity orange.

bottle. Scent of some nice hops and sweet malt backbone. Superior lacing with a mouthfeel that is in no way watery but very drinkable. Great hop flavor that finishes with a faint sweet malt taste and a bitter hop finish. Thanks be to Breckenridge for making a great IPA at an affordable price!
