Commercial Description:
Hoppy? Brother, 471 redefines hoppy. 471 is a small batch, limited edition ale that was created by our Brewmaster to separate the weak from the strong. 471 is a double IPA, that combines Pale, Munich, Caramel-30, Carapils and Torrified Wheat malts, with Chinook, Centennial, Simcoe and Fuggles hops. It has a big sweet mouthfeel, followed by more hoppiness than you've ever had at one time. Enjoy. (Available at Breckenridge Pubs and Restaurants and bottled as 471 Small Batch Double Hopped IPA.)

Cloudy amber w/ frothy finger of pale tan foam. Big, hoppy (grapefruit) aroma w/ a solid malt foundation (caramel, toffee) & notes of vanilla. Sticky, juicy feel. Surprisingly sweet, malty flavour w/ a juicy hop bitterness.

Bottled. Clear golden, small head. Aroma of lychee and grapefruit with a whiff of smoke. Medium bodied and very hop aromtic. Completely domianted by the hops. These are supported by rounded maltiness offering some vanilla to the ho salad. The finish is bitter, but not to the levels you’d expect after the aroma. Compex? No. Tasty? H*ll yes!"

(Bottled) Hazy amber with almost no head. Exotic-fruity aroma with mild acidity and aromatic hops. An enormous fruit-bomb with dryish flavor, alcohol hints and a long, bitter aftertaste. Medium-bodied, low-carbonated. Nice and enjoyable, but not the most balanced or complex. In small doses.

The best beer I ever found at an airport bar (not that that’s a big hurdle). (The airport was Denver, of course.) A beautiful orange-gold color, with a nice, creamy head. Aroma of banana peppers and grapefruit. When you drink it, the hoppiness comes in surprisingly late -- the initial impression is a solid maltiness. But then the nice, fresh-tasting grapefruity hops come washing in, and it finishes with more of the grapefruit and banana pepper. Not a great IPA by any means, but above average, and it made my flgiht delay well worth it.

Clear orange, moderate to small head with decent lacing and retention. Aroma is citrus, grapefruit PNW hops with predictable caramel backing. Moderate bitterness, enjoyable and actually has hops unlike the last few IIPAs I’ve had.

this is a good beer. what i dont like is that they are another company trying to push this as the worlds hoppiest beer when it isnt even close. this beer will be in my fridge again but it holds no candle to ruination.

Bottle; poured a clear light orange w/ minimal white head. Aroma of pine, citrus, grapefruit, and light caramel malt. Alcohol hidden well, and easy drinking; very easy drinking fo rthe style. That said, not devoid of good flavor. Not the most complex for the style; but good balance of caramel malt and citrus hops. Fairly sweet.

Bottle. Poured a light orange color. The pine and citrus notes hit your nose promising good things to come. Taste delivers on everything the aroma promised, nice balanced beer, piney, citrusy, a little bite, all in a great bottle of beer. Hope I can get some more of this in the future !
