Nose is oaky, earthy hops, citrus, caramelly malt. The palate is thinner than the regular 471, which I love, and the flavors seem toned down a bit. Smooth palate, with some heat, and spirity, getting more cognacy late and as it warms. Decent, but I prefer the regular 471 by a good margin. Give me 471 then Wild Turkey (or vice versa), but not together like this. hopdog (5561), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 7, 2009 On tap at the Craft Ale House. Poured a medium amber color with a small sized off white head. Aromas of whiskey, some lighter woodiness, vanilla, and caramel. Tastes of whiskey, the same woodiness, vanilla, and lighter citrus. Thinner body. Not terriable, but then again, the Barrel Aging really didn’t do anything to really make this one to track down. TomDecapolis (3162), Skippack, Pennsylvania, USA

Pours a hazy deeper orange with golden notes that poured with a small bubbly off white head. Aroma of whiskey, sweet caramel malts and a touch if hops. Flavor of the same up front watered down whiskey with some woody notes. Had this side by side with a fresh 471 and this one just did not hold up as as the regular version. | 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Mar 29, 2009 Had the day of the Houston Flying Saucer Eighth Annual Anniversary Party!!
..waited about 8 hours to try this...
First to hit you as the waitress puts this stuff in front of you is the aroma, tons of raw bourbon, no balance at all ...
pours a ruby brown ...
lots of crappy whiskey in the mouth, i mean, like right outta the bottle whiskey notes..
insane!! overdone!! fuckin gross ass shit!!!
If you missed this brew, go to your local dive bar, order the cheapest shot of whiskey on the rocks, drink half the liquid and cough til the whiskey comes out your nose, then leave for an hour, come back and taste and smell the left over concoction.. what you taste and smell is pretty much what you will get from Breckenridge 471 IPA Wild Turkey ..
ladies and gentleman, the party and Flying Saucer were awesome, this beer, a horrid mean party trick! jakerainey (1), Houston, Texas, USA does not count | 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jun 7, 2007 I disagree with Tejas. I thought this beer was amazing. I was at the Flying Saucer when they tapped it along with an Avery IPA Cask.
I have nothing but great things to say about the Saucer and both of these breweries. bu11zeye (5442), Frisco, Texas, USA

Special occassion was Flying Saucer execs. had all their mgrs. and brewery reps in town. Too bad they didn’t bring a good beer with them. This was awful and that’s being nice. Flat, sour tasting, and harsh on the palate. Just bad overall.
