Commercial Description:
This true American-style unfiltered wheat has something a little special – the nectar of the great Salmiana Agave. Agave complements the refreshingly light quality of our wheat and adds a subtle note of flavor that expands this beer’s uplifting taste profile. It is familiar, yet creative.

Pours a pale amber color with a dissapating head. Minimal lacing. Aroma of cereal and yeast and a subtle sharp tang of orange. Tastes like a typical wheat with fruit notes that fall between cantalope and apricot-I assume that’s the agave. Hints of honey. Finishes dry and sour and seems a little light bodied. It’s Ok but not something I’ll make a habit of.

I tried this for something different. It was not much more than a normal wheat beer. The brew had a little sweeter taste than most wheats, but it wasn’t too special.

(Bottle) Pours a cloudy yellow color with a decent white head. Aroma is of wheat malt and biscuit. Not detecting much agave in the nose. Taste is a little more potent. Sour notes and light citrus hit your tongue first. Some grass and grain in the finish. In some ways it reminded me of a Berliner Weisse because of the sour wheat character of the beer. I just wish there were more robust wheat notes in here. Still a unique and somewhat refreshing brew.

12 oz bottle from Supermaket Liquors, Cheyenne, WY; Nose of guava fruits, flowery hops, and wheaty grain; cloudy yellow-gold with a big, glass-lacing, off-white head; flavor is wheaty, with light agave in the background along with very mild hop bitterness; finish is lightly bitter. Good different wheat.

(12oz bottle from Whole Foods on September 28, 2008) First thing, before I get into the rating: INCREDIBLE 2-3 finger head. Bright white, huge, stiff and frothy, leaving splotchy patches of lacing. Nice, steady carbonation. Sweet smelling for a wheat ale, but not like the usual malty, sugary bit. Its flavor is almost nothing what I’d expect from a wheat, but the agave-wheat pairing (in my opinion) is a good combo. They compliment each other nicely, and it seems Breckenridge did their homework. We use agave at home instead of sugar, so I don’t know if I’m biased to the flavor, but this is very well done. The center-back of my tongue was a little active at first. The rest, very enjoyable. Clean and thin, but thick enough on the palate to give it points. I’d drink this any day.

Pours a cloudy orange color with a small white head. The aroma is full of sweet malts, some honey, citrus and wheat. The flavor is pretty basic, but nice; lots of wheat and some honey, the agave is interesting, I guess it gives it a bit of coolness. The palate is pretty light and very fizzy. Thanks Richard.

Bottle. Didn’t care for this at all. Poured a cloudy gold with a small head. Aroma of wheat. Flavor is putrid. Thin bitter finish.

Dirty gold pour with white head. Wheaty sweety nose. Flavor is fruit juice sweet with some grain. Light body that keeps it to the sweet finish.
