Commercial Description:
This true American-style unfiltered wheat has something a little special – the nectar of the great Salmiana Agave. Agave complements the refreshingly light quality of our wheat and adds a subtle note of flavor that expands this beer’s uplifting taste profile. It is familiar, yet creative.

A vigorous pour produces a fat-three-finger thick pale tan colored head. As I pour this brew I get quite a fruity aromatic note that is a mix of bananas and pears. The beer is a murky, hazy, pale amber color, but shows a fully hazed, orangish straw color if held up to the light. Aromas of sweet grain, crushed wheat, white bread, lightly tart lemons and a finish of crushed soda crackers are the most noticed part of the nose when I specifically inspect it. Interestingly the up front fruitiness is only really noticed if you are almost not trying to smell the nose; it is there but can be fleeting and shy if you are looking for it.

More thick bodied than I expected, but it is still only has a light-medium heft to it. The beer definitely tastes more than just a simple Wheat Ale; a soft green, though slightly tropical fruitiness, perhaps a faint vegetal note towards the finish as well as a agave sweetness that I was not expecting to be as noticeable as it is. The agave character is not anywhere near overwhelming though and melds in quite well with the soft wheat beer flavors. Other flavors of tart wheat, soda crackers, dusty malt, sweet grain, perhaps a touch of herbal hop bitterness.

Not a bad beer, for some reason I was expecting it to be a bit blander than it is. It has some nice, though soft, agave flavors that pair well with the standard notes from a clean American Wheat beer.

Bottle.
Quick, alert the police! Someone stole the agave from every bottle in the six-pack I bought! The perp left a beer that pours like mustard-yellow sewer water with a skunky aroma of sour rotten vegetables and refuse water. Surely the missing agave would compensate for the mild lemon-tinged hops and watery mouthfeel this brew has without it.

Pours a cloudy, light amber. There’s a slightly sweet fruitiness to the beer that I"m going to assume comes from the agave. I can see the similarity to that disgusting can of pulque I had a few years ago. This is far from disgusting, but perhaps a little sweet for a session beer.

bottle, yellow golden pour, foamy head that recedes to a soapy film, first sip has a strong bubble gum or candy flavor and finishes with bananas and cream

Bottle. Strong wheaten odor highlighted by lime notes with a touch of lemon zest and grain. Opaquely hazy golden pour with a frothy, brilliantly white head. Crisp taste is strongly citric and somewhat tart, resolves into a bready but too-short finish. Dryness and acidity are clashing strangely here. Hard to figure out what the agave contributes; it’s probably what I’m signifying as lime, though a bit dirtier and with a slightly medicinal edge (though I don’t doubt its authenticity). Light-medium body. Average for style and nothing to rave about in the whole - still, a welcome experiment a good summer quencher.

Hazy light yellow-orange body, thin off-white head. Light tart, grassy nose with hay and dry bready malts in addition to a hint of lemon. Grassy, tart, lemony body, light, and refreshing. Sharp carbonation. Nothing too crazy here.
