Oct 19, 2007 Dark brown body with thin light brown head. Lightly sweet malt, faint nut aroma. Very thin on the palate. Flavor is some dry, roasted malt, a little bitterness, a little bready. Undistinguished mild nutty/malty aftertaste.

Oct 19, 2007 Nice color but thin head. Aroma is a little malty and weird. The flavor lets you know that it’s not an amber, my first thought. The oldish taste is there with some alcohol too, but pretty good.

Oct 19, 2007 Sampled at the brewery during GABF. Very dark brown and opaque with a nice off white head. Heavy malty flavor with a syrupy hint of vanilla. Something in the finish just turns me off. Malty aroma with some kind of syrupy malt hint that, again, doesn’t do it for me. Creamy coating mouth feel.

Oct 19, 2007 Don’t have notes on the nose, but the flavor is weak nuts, darker fruits and winterish spices. Very slick and water however, which is in contrast to how it looks and seems like it should taste.

Oct 13, 2007 I get a hodgepodge of flat, caramel-like syrupy flavors. Very heavy on the palate, and not in a good way. Also has an odd metallic tinge to it. I was very disappointed in this beer, not a fan.

Oct 8, 2007 Bottle courtesy of tjthresh. Pours dark brown with a tan head. Smells nutty and spicy with some dark fruit. Tastes of caramel and molasses.
