Aug 7, 2008 Draft at the brewpub. A deep red beer with a lazing light tan head. The aroma is sweet and very spicy combined with medium notes of nuts and alcohol. The flavor is sweet with notes of fruit and vanilla, leading to a dry bitter and nutty finish.

Taste is moderately sweet, raisin/prune, caramel, light chocolate, nut, earthy. Light-medium body, low carbonation, somewhat watery, light acidity.

Oct 3, 2003 (draught) Very dark, deep chestnut; good brownish head. Very malty, dark malts, sweet chocolate in the nose. Again chocolate flavours, some roasted hints, sugared coffee. Well-bodied, sweetness is present in the mouthfeel - corn? Far from bad, but just not clean-tasting enough for the style IMO.
