Commercial Description:
Subtlety. That's what makes our Avalanche amber ale such a treat. We blend pale and caramel malts -- and just a kiss of bittering hops -- to create a refreshing-but-flavorful, any-time beer. Aromas of pale grains, a semi-sweet middle and a clean-as-Colorado-snow finish make this our best-selling beer.

Pours a golden brown in the glass with a small tan head that leaves a little lacing. Smells sweet with a malt overtone, grassy presence. Tastes fulfilling, nut flavor with roasted malt and a woolly mouthfeel.

Just an amber that is a wonderful session. Not complex but it is not supposed to be.

12 oz bottle. Pours a deep amber color with a slightly off white head that disappears rather quickly but leave nice lacing. Aroma is rich caramel malt with a moderate hop bitterness to balance everything out. Full flavored and a just a little heavy on the palate. Overall a good beer bu not the best I have seen from Breckenridge.

22 oz bottle. Pint glass. Nice color. Not bad, but pretty thin. Hard to believe its ABV over 5.

Amberish/yellow head over foxy-amber beer. Lightly hoppy nose, and sweet cake, dried sultanas. Sweetish, malty, dry malts, falling flat afterwards. Pretty carbonated, medium body at best. Finely sourish finish (but is it intended?). Rather middle-of-the-road beer. Nothing bad, absolutely nothing special. Thanks, CK!

The aroma has both buttery and nutty elements along with vinegar and corn malt. Not my fav. The appearance is amber with a small head. The flavor has nothing bad like the aroma. It’s only slightly sweet it’s mostly malty with some hops to balance. It does however have some of the buttery and nutty qualities. The palate is smooth. Overall I like it, I just dislike the aroma.
