A bit of raisin and earth as well. Flavor is fairly well balanced between tart hop and sweet malt but it they are not well matched. There is a nice zestiness that stimulates the tongue. afireinside96 (839), Mountville, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 29, 2008 bottle - Pours lightly hazy amber with a one finger head. There’s a moderate caramel malt aroma. The flavor is mostly malts and unfortunately is rather lacking. The mouthfeel is on the thin side. There’s some hops in the finish, but not much. As others have noted, it’s really not much better than a macro lager alexsdad06 (1091), Ohio, USA

Not much here. southsideiron (5), USA does not count | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Mar 27, 2008 Three bottles over two sittings at a bar called Chucks Tavern in Crete IL. Tested a few beers at a sampling last Saturday. The first beer came off as flat without much aroma or head. Bland.
Tried a second beer in a plastic cup, oddly, much much better! More aroma and a bit more foam in my cup. I impressed on the bartender that a change in how they clean glassware may be in order. This beer was much better the second time around. More malty, I prefer beers that are a little hoppier than this one, but otherwise a decent beer for a newbie.
