Commercial Description:
Subtlety. That's what makes our Avalanche amber ale such a treat. We blend pale and caramel malts -- and just a kiss of bittering hops -- to create a refreshing-but-flavorful, any-time beer. Aromas of pale grains, a semi-sweet middle and a clean-as-Colorado-snow finish make this our best-selling beer.

Picked up from the newly installed singles shelf at Green’s. The beer poured out hazy amber in color, and had a small, thin head. The smell was very mild, and predominantly that of sweet malts. The taste followed the smell as a mostly malty offering with a vague fruitiness and a floral hop presence. Somewhat watery and seltzer feel rounded out the experience. Instead of an avalanche, this was more like the snow sliding off the roof when you slammed the door too hard.

Moderate malts and light hops in the aroma with a bit of band-aid. Frothy, off-white head with a clear medium amber body. Malty taste up front with a salty sort of popcorn finish. Watery mouthfeel with lively carbonation.

Amber brown with minimal head and lacing but good carbonation throughout. Hops and caramel on the low down, slight sweet and smooth. Seemed to taste better as it got warmer somewhat like a german ale. Not bad but middle of the road.

Bottle 355? ml
Appearance: Light amber, light creamy top. Slightly fizzy in appearance. 2+
Nose :Earthy, spicy hops , some caramel below , mineral top 5+.
Flavor/Palate : Woody , earthy hops up front . Lighter almost thin malt base found behind. Ending had chewy feel. Thanks to citric hops this beer was fairly refreshing.11+/20

Sampled at Food and Froth. Nice Amber. Coppery color, hops and malts in nice balance, without too much caramel and toffee flavor.

On tap at Flying Saucer. Has a clear copper color with small off white head. The aroma is sweet with raisins. The taste is sweet with a malt. Easy to drink, a decent amber.

pours a hazy reddish amber with an off-white head. aroma is bread, clove, gentle malt and a smidge of hops. taste is gentle bready malt with some light hops. not really much to it. a lot better than a macro. metallic on the finish. mid-light bodied with a soft-yet-prickly mouthfeel. eh.
