Commercial Description:
Subtlety. That's what makes our Avalanche amber ale such a treat. We blend pale and caramel malts -- and just a kiss of bittering hops -- to create a refreshing-but-flavorful, any-time beer. Aromas of pale grains, a semi-sweet middle and a clean-as-Colorado-snow finish make this our best-selling beer.

On tap at Flying Saucer. Has a clear copper color with small off white head. The aroma is sweet with raisins. The taste is sweet with a malt. Easy to drink, a decent amber.

pours a hazy reddish amber with an off-white head. aroma is bread, clove, gentle malt and a smidge of hops. taste is gentle bready malt with some light hops. not really much to it. a lot better than a macro. metallic on the finish. mid-light bodied with a soft-yet-prickly mouthfeel. eh.

A perfect amber color. Frothy large foam head that lasts. Smells like malt, chocolate, cocoa. The taste is strong like coca beer. Mild bitter aftertaste. The only thing killing this beer is is consistency of syrup mouthfeel.

Draft at a pub in Pagosa, CO. Not nearly as bad as the ratings suggest. A little bit interesting as this is very lager-esque. The touch of caramel brings this its only flavor, if any...a true session party type beer. Nothing I can excited about but the drinkability is top notch.

Not sure, but this beer seemed totally skunked...hopefully it was a bad bottle, but this was bad..flat out bad. Watery on the palate. I can’t even place the taste. Just tastes like water and alcohol with a stench. Very Bad.

Rather reserved, I thought this would be more intimidating. An aroma of mild slag and a bit of permanent hair treatment. A below average amount of carbonation. IMHO mild for an ale, quite unexcitable. Has many of the characteristics of a lager yet presents a bit of ale personality at times. Non oppressive finish with just a tad of bitterness.

12 oz. bottle courtesy of Acknud. Consumed at fridge temp. Pours a hazy orange amber color with a minimal head. Tastes slightly malty. Finish was clean with no aftertaste. An ok sessionable brew.
