Commercial Description:
Subtlety. That's what makes our Avalanche amber ale such a treat. We blend pale and caramel malts -- and just a kiss of bittering hops -- to create a refreshing-but-flavorful, any-time beer. Aromas of pale grains, a semi-sweet middle and a clean-as-Colorado-snow finish make this our best-selling beer.

Nothing too fancy, basic German malt aroma with a hint of bitterness in the flavor. This is a beer I could use to introduce good beer to macro loving friends. Won’t blow you away, but one I would keep my fridge stocked with for general entertainment.

Light amber color with a beige head. Grainy aroma. Flavor of bready malt and a little caramel and bitter.

Bottle via jimbowood. Reddish amber color. Smell of malt, spice, caramel and hops. ALL VERY FAINT! Tastes the same.

There’s not really much to this beer. Amberish pour with hardly any aroma. Very watery taste. No body. No memorable finish. I shouldn’t have bought a six pack. Not too good of a beer.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a muddy red with a medium sized off-white head. Not much to pick up on the aroma, just a bit of background malts. Mouthfeel is rather bland, a bit of metallic taste. No bittering hops here. Disappointing effort.

The reddish color was enticing, and the aroma of the beer was complex and inviting. It wasn’t so sweet as it was warm, and the taste followed suit. It was very drinkable, but not something I would grab first. Nothing memorable here.

Pours an off-clear medium amber with little white head. Little to distinguish on the nose, slight hops with a midly sweet caramel malt. Initial flavor is slighly sweet with some indistinguishable spice...finish is sour, which is the prevalent throughout the rest of the beer. I wouldn’t really call this beer the flagship of Breckenridge.
