Commercial Description:
Subtlety. That's what makes our Avalanche amber ale such a treat. We blend pale and caramel malts -- and just a kiss of bittering hops -- to create a refreshing-but-flavorful, any-time beer. Aromas of pale grains, a semi-sweet middle and a clean-as-Colorado-snow finish make this our best-selling beer.

On tap at the Freakin Frog in las Vegas. Somewhat uninspiring. Tasted all right nothing special.

Chicago trip. Tuesday 13:05. Amber with a minimal head. Vanilla and hints of fruit in nose. Vanilla malt with some hops. OK.

Not great but pretty decent compared to the other Brecks I tried. It actually looks pretty good with a medium red amber color and head floating atop. The malt content is pretty pleasurable-sweet and well balanced with some hops in the background.

Pours a dark, sparkling orange with a small, fizzy off-white head. The aroma is muted caramel and straw, and the mouthfeel is light, thin and almost fizzy. This beer is pretty indistinct with no specific flavors jumping out. It has a light, sweet start, a fizzy faint caramel in the middle and a very light hop finish. While light and refreshing, if you want flavor, look elsewhere. Could make a passable session beer if you want something that might please your friends that have yet to leave the BMC ranks.

Bottle. Pours a darker amber with an off-white head that disappears very quickly. Very weak aroma of malt. Watery flavour of sweet malt with barely any detectable hops. Finish is weak, with malt that quickly goes away. Mouthfeel is a little thin but carbonation is good. If anything, it’s easy to drink, but a disappointment overall.

Pours a light copper, with a short lasting head. Sour fruit nose. Watery malts, light hops, a touch of maple syrup.

Red copper with a lasting head. Notes of fruit, hops and sourcrout. Farily malty with notes of hones. Medium bitter finish.

Rather flat and filled with less than lovely sock flavors. Finishes well. But way, way to flat, seems quite old maybe.
