Commercial Description:
Subtlety. That's what makes our Avalanche amber ale such a treat. We blend pale and caramel malts -- and just a kiss of bittering hops -- to create a refreshing-but-flavorful, any-time beer. Aromas of pale grains, a semi-sweet middle and a clean-as-Colorado-snow finish make this our best-selling beer.

Bottle: Fiery golden, large foamy white head, lively carbonation, fairly nice lacing.   Certainly looks inviting.   Pale malt nose, slight cereals but it is minor.   Soft semi-sweet malt base, the cereals aren’t realy there.   Quite clean this is, nothing on the finish except a little bit of lingering malts.   Moderate body and mouthfeel.   Not big at all mind you, however it is light and refreshing in this Arizona weather.

Not a bad amber-style ale, a lot smoother than most in this style, true amber color, not much head though, and no lacing whatsoever, toasted grains in the nose with a subtle hints of hops & caramel malt, very drinkable & palatable, a good session beer, very smooth & silky body with more notes of toasted grain along with some hints of caramel, brown sugar & flowerly hops, nicely balanced, mild finish, a very middle-of-the-road beer that would be great for a party, would also make a nice introduction for craft brewing to the BMC-type of drinker

Bottle from Capone’s. Medium copper color with 1-finger off-white head and a lot of fast rising, small carbonation bubbles. Aroma of bready caramel malt, slight hops and brown sugar. Not terribly complex, with flavor notes of caramel malt, brown sugar, and mild hops.

Bottle from sampler pack. Dark amber in color - cloudy. Pretty good. Decent flavor but not all that strong.

Pours a darker amber color with an off-white head. Aroma is very malty with toasted malts, caramel, slight floral hoppyness, and some biscuit malts. Flavor was pretty much nothing like the aroma. Seemed kind of watery and didn’t have any after taste. Not very good at all.

Pours copper w/ a shallow, semi creamy froth. A full thick residual ring of lacing. Aroma of brisk malts. Medium nectar w/ ample residual effers. Brisk, clean, and refreshing. Dominant flavor is the caramel malts but is balanced by a brisk hop component. The finish is bittered perfectly. I could drink this all night long.

Rosy amber body, little white head. Refreshing crisp aroma with citrus hops and caramel. Clean hop malt taste, dry finish. Some crystal malt? Drinkable.
