Commercial Description:
Subtlety. That's what makes our Avalanche amber ale such a treat. We blend pale and caramel malts -- and just a kiss of bittering hops -- to create a refreshing-but-flavorful, any-time beer. Aromas of pale grains, a semi-sweet middle and a clean-as-Colorado-snow finish make this our best-selling beer.

Pours deep golden-amber with a fully receding white head. Aroma is corny, sweet malt. Taste is caramel and light malt with a slight metallic and corny note. Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied with moderate carbonation.

Bottle. Murky amber color--thin white head. Smells sweet (malted hops?). Flavor is pretty one dimesional. Dry finish.

Appealing amber pour, flavorful but not heavy, pleasant but not terribly exciting. Slightly hoppy finish.

12 oz. bottle - Pours a clear amber color with a 1/2 finger thick off white head. Has a grassy, herbal hop aroma. Has a dry carboard malt flavor. Light to medium body. Not much here. Worth a try, I guess.

7th Annual Strong Beer Festival. Found this sample at the Little Guys dist. stand. Had a beer can musty aroma. Dark golden body. Flavor had a mild sweetness but most of the flavor was grainy and watery. No wonder they were filling the sampler glass full to the top.

Clear amber body with a small white head. Sweet caramel aroma with a touch of honey. Sweet caramel flavor, some honey and some light grassy hops.

Limped out of the bottle into my glass with little fanfare. A clear orange pour with a tinge of brown sits beneath a meager little white head. The aroma offers up a faint wisp of promise. A bit of spice, some sugary sweetness and the faintest trace of floral hops make me think that I might have found a nice little brew. But alas, once I taste it I realize it’s nothing more than a sugared up pale lager. Watery.

12 oz bottle. Date code not notched on label.

Very light for an amber. Not really amber, but dark golden.

Aroma is sweet, sugar and caramel.

Flavor is light and sweet. Caramel malt, light grains touch of sugar. No hops detected.

Amber light?
