Commercial Description:
Subtlety. That's what makes our Avalanche amber ale such a treat. We blend pale and caramel malts -- and just a kiss of bittering hops -- to create a refreshing-but-flavorful, any-time beer. Aromas of pale grains, a semi-sweet middle and a clean-as-Colorado-snow finish make this our best-selling beer.

Had a 2 ounce glass of this draft as part of a 6 beer sampler at the brewery. Amber color with thin white head, and little lacing. Finish was somewhat metallic. Not the best of the lot, and in fact, probably the one I enjoyed the least of the 6.

Pours to a carmel color. Pleasent aroma of malt. Taste is minimal, but inoffensive. Easy to drink, but not terribly flavorful.

bottle - Pours lightly hazy amber with a one finger head. There’s a moderate caramel malt aroma. The flavor is mostly malts and unfortunately is rather lacking. The mouthfeel is on the thin side. There’s some hops in the finish, but not much. As others have noted, it’s really not much better than a macro lager.

Like the old saying "wheres the beef" this should say, "wheres the beer" The one good thing is its not offending, just not anything really. I would take it over a bud or miller though if that is any consolation.

This $1.49 bottled brew from Traverse City, MI poured a small thin sized head of frothy mostly lasting bubbles that left behind a transparent light orange brown colored body. The aroma was malty with a slight dirty sock note. The mouth feel was slightly tingly from start to finish. The flavor was smooth and mildly hoppy with bready notes.

I should have reviews, perhaps? Nothing special. A green aroma, but at 54 degrees or so, it pours with a nice head. Smooth and watery. I’ll just as soon drink a Bud. I expect more from craft beer. This doesn’t impress or offend. It’s Switzerland.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Pours slightly hazy amber with a small, white head. Unpleasant vegetable aroma. Thin and watery body with a touch of caramel. Not sure if this is intended this way, but it’s definitely unclean and inharmonious. 170406
