Good punch with this beer whilst in the table conversation, though maybe not for multi rounds. thehoff (569), Kalamazoo, Michigan, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Sep 12, 2005 Had this beer late at night after coming home from work and didn’t rate it right away (it was 3:30 in the morning). I do remember it having a heavier malt flavor . Not really so great for me. I really wouldn’t want it again, but then I really am not the biggest fan of Amber beers. beeryum (652), Norcross, Georgia, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 6, 2005 Draft. Dark amber pour. Sweet caramel aroma and a little light hops. More sweet caramel flavors, and while thin upfront, finishes almost syrupy sweet with a little bitterness. I tasted green apples too, and I am guessing this keg might be infected, or at the least, beyond its prime. delmecum (87), Western Illinois, Illinois, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Sep 4, 2005 Well I guess it is an "any-time beer" but not much of an amber. A good hot Summer’s day beer, but nothing to keep in the fridge for a tasteful need. walter (359), Staunton, Virginia, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 20, 2005 Draft, Baja Bean, Staunton VA. Deep amber color with fading head. Very little/subtle on the nose, mostly sweet malt with a little bit of an antiseptic quality, but not in a bad way-- just a perceptible bitter aroma. Very smooth palate, commendably so (almost lager-like). Medium body. Not a lot going on, but what is there is quality-- sweetish caramel malt with a balanced bitterness and crisp finish, pretty much what I want from an amber. Very fresh tasting, which might explain the discrepancy between this and other ratings. sethdude (604), St. Louis, Missouri, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/20 | Aug 16, 2005 Pours an amber color with a very thin head that disappears quickly. Aroma is toasty and nutty, no hops apparent. Flavor is just not good. Malt profile seems extremely cheap, loads of corn. Alcohol is a little too aparent for the ABV. Not very enjoyable.

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Aug 16, 2005 Nice easy drinker. Nothing really stands out, just a nice balanced beer with moderate hoppiness. Better than the Coors everyone else was drinking. Silphium (2152), Haslett, Michigan, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Jul 28, 2005 Rating #1100. 1100 isn’t such a big milestone, so an average beer will suffice. Slightly hazy amber body, thin/medium off-white head. Sweet, toasty aroma with earthy hops, similar to the pale ale I sampled before this. Sweet, cerealy body with hints of caramel, balanced by earthy hops, a tad watery. Again, a bit of a "hop tea" characteristic. Too similar to the pale ale.
