Commercial Description:
Subtlety. That's what makes our Avalanche amber ale such a treat. We blend pale and caramel malts -- and just a kiss of bittering hops -- to create a refreshing-but-flavorful, any-time beer. Aromas of pale grains, a semi-sweet middle and a clean-as-Colorado-snow finish make this our best-selling beer.

Pours copper and clear with a decent off white head. Toasted malt and caramel aroma. Straight ahead caramel and bread flavor with a slightly rough bitter finish. Light in body.

Floral, toasty, and peaty aromas. Fairly light red. Weak on the front flavors, with just a hint of hops. Very small head with almost no lacing. Not much complexity to this one.

I really enjoyed the buttery grain-malt aroma. Fairly sweet, lots of caramel, a little astringent. Somehow vacant. Finish a little tinny.

Not too impressed with this one. Not too much flavor, fairly clean tasting except for a sweet aftertaste which was somewhat unpleasant. Something about this beer simply did not work for me.

A quality amber. Nice reddish color and smooth head on the pour. Malty without being overpowering.

Pours a nice red color with a limited head. Nose is coppery and acrid. The flavor is sour, metallic, like a pale ale gone bad. Not much aftertaste. I didn’t finish the bottle.

On tap. Reddish, orange color. Malty aroma. Malty flavor, some hints of orange and spice. Nice "full" mouthfeel and an easy malty finish.
