Commercial Description:
Subtlety. That's what makes our Avalanche amber ale such a treat. We blend pale and caramel malts -- and just a kiss of bittering hops -- to create a refreshing-but-flavorful, any-time beer. Aromas of pale grains, a semi-sweet middle and a clean-as-Colorado-snow finish make this our best-selling beer.

12 ounce bottle from Whole Foods Market, Charlottesville, VA. Poursa a hazy reddish brown color with a medium frothy head. Average head retention and lacing. Nutty and slightly roasty aroma with mild hop notes. Taste is caramel, nuts and leafy hops. Medium bodied.

Breckenridge Avalanche Amber is a hazy amber beer with a small off-white head. The aroma and flavor were full of mossy wheat and the finish was very modest. This is not a dry beer, but also not a very wet one. All in all, this was not an enjoyable beverage.

a nice amber with a substantial head. Nothing spectacular to the aroma or to the flavor, but it was not bad.

A beer that is an everyday beer. It is a little on the watery side, however I do prefer it over macro ambers.

This Amber Ale was consumed for lunch at the Capital Ale House in Fredericksburg, VA. The ale had a nice head from the tap and a dark amber color. It was just too thin and not much in the flavor area. Some hops but little malt. It had some sweetness as a finish.

Tan pour with no head to speak of. Tasted smooth yet somewhat watery. Not really distinguishable from Michelob Amber, which is sad because this is much more expensive.

Nice tannish color, little to no head. A smooth beer wih a slight hop finish. Decent beer to try but not a true favorite.

Bomber shared with Tyler Durder, tasted alongside Broken Rake. This came across as watery and uni-dimensional by comparison. Just mediocre.
