Sep 20, 2007 Had this beer on 8/27/1999. Color is a medium brown with good carbonation and a light head. Aroma is a nice of roasted malt scent. Taste is mild , roasted and smooth. It starts with a medium body that goes down with a smooth creamy feel. The finish is a mild roasted flavor backed with a light bitterness. It’s a mild well rounded brew that fits it’s category very well.

Sep 10, 2007 Draft at the brewpub. Poured a clear chestnut brown color. Head was light tan. Aroma reminded me of the 2220 red ale...buttery caramel and burnt toffee. The flavor was a bit more complex than the other beers I tried at this place. There was brown sugar, caramel, toffee, and distinct raisin. Pretty good for a style that generally lacks character.

Oct 3, 2009 tap at Breckenridge brewpub in Denver - Pours amber with a white head. Teh aroma is of nutty, roast, caramel malt. The flavor is toasted caramel malt with a touch of nuts. It’s sweet, medium bodied, and overall a pretty solid brown ale.

May 7, 2004 Dark, dark amber. highly bittered. Woody and nutty, but in the end it was just an average beer. No true character.

Jul 8, 2005 Light tawny with a creamy head. Toasted malt aroma, also some hop presense. Initial tastes are nutty and more toasted malt. Hops are on the finish with slight esters noticable. Medium body but clears quickly.

Oct 24, 2008 On tap at the Denver location, dark-brown color, with an off-white head, sweet toasted, caramelized malt nose, some toffee, dried fruit accents with a nice nutty, graininess aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a toasty, caramelized, sweet grainy malt character, with some toffee, nutty flavors, with a faint flowery hop citrusy, leading towards a malty, fruity, kind of winey finish.

Jan 13, 2005 Very dark brown color with a medium head. Just a pinch of malt and nut on the nose. The taste is not too shabby at all... a little malt and chocolate, but none of the nut I would look for in a brown. It’s not bad and one of the better Breckenridge beers out there.

Feb 29, 2004 Ruby brown in color with a small white head. Faint nose of malt,nuts and roasted malts.Finishes quickly and without much character.
