Commercial Description:
The chill of a Colorado high-country winter calls for a beer with extra flavor and strength. Here it is. At over 7% alcohol, with a sturdy texture and rich flavors of caramel and chocolate, our holiday seasonal is the fermented equivalent of a good fire.
The ultimate winter warmer.

The bottle label was different that what is shown on the picture here, and I found it better looking. The beer itself looked mahogany in color, clear, and topped with a one finger head. The smell made do a double take, because the strong hop presence was not expected at all. The citric smell was backed with some toffee and chocolate. The taste was quite outstanding due to the amount of things going on. The hops were noticeably bright and floral, while the malt was toasty and sweet. There was a rich smoky backbone, and a lingering buttery aftertaste. Even with all of this flavor density, this was not a big beer, but an easily approached one. A little tinny in texture perhaps, but not much given up there either. Fantastic pick from Windward Beverage Mart in Alpharetta at the recommendation of Paz.

Northen KY beer tasting. This was the second Winter beer, continuing with the dark and spicy brews. The aroma is very sweet, with black cherry and allspice. The taste is perfectly balanced, full of Christmas spices- among them: ginger, cardamom, and nutmeg. This beer definitely gives you the feeling of Christmas. Tis’ the season

Pours clear brown with a thin off-white/tan head that does not lace. Nose is malt, ginger, cinnamon, and alcohol. Good malty sweetness, lots of caramel and some more warm spices, and more alcohol dominate the taste. The alcohol is pleasant, not harsh or biting, but nicely warming. Slightly creamy mouthfeel. Enjoyable lingering smoky finish. Not bad stuff.

The artwork is really appealing. BCA pours coffe brown with a short lived shallow froth. Residual lacing is almost NIL with just a thin canopy and ring. Aromas need a push also with only mild whiffs of sweet aged dark fruits. After it warms a bit some strong biscuit aroms come forth. Full nectar with good carbonation and a mildy creamy texture. This one gives back like a rich uncle or something. Rich and generous with a fat milty backbone sustaining a culesac of cocoa, coffee bean, cherry, and plumb. The finish lingers with sweet biscuits and just a mild bittering. This beer is rich and rewarding with a 7.4% abv whis is undetecable. A good winter warmer indeed.

Pours dark brown with ruby hues and a fully receding off-white head. Aroma of phenolics, plum, toffee, cherry, and a bandaid/plasticy note. Tastes sweet, winey, fruity with notes of plum, red wine, brown sugar, and spicy phenols. Mouthfeel is full bodied, lightly sticky with a slight alcohol burn and soft carbonation. Was not impressed at fridge temps, but this got better as it warmed.

Poured a cloudy dark brown with almost no head. Fantastic aroma. A very full and smooth flavor. This would make a great “stocking stuffer” for anyone’s holiday.

this beer pours a deep brown color iwht a small tan head leaving some good lacing down the sides. The smell is quite spicy and malty and the flavors emulate this. Not a very complex beer and I’d hoped for better from them. this beer could have had so much potential but just kinda lagged out. All in all though it was not the worst beer I;ve had and it is quite drinkable, I just wish it would have been better. Cheers!

Had this beer on 11/24/1999. Aroma is a slight roasted scent with hop tones that reminds me of Coors. Color is a rich brown with good carbonation and a nice head. Taste is rich and creamy with a slightly sharp finish. Starting with heavy medium body that goes down sharp, leaving your mouth with a creamy feel. Finish is a strong sharp malt flavor and a fare bitterness. The malt flavor is unpleasant and it leaves you with an alcohol feel.
