Commercial Description:
Select wheat joins with American Hops under the careful eye of the master brewer. The result is an entirely drinkable wheat beer, refreshing, rewarding and proper for any occasion. At your whim, add a thin sliver of lemon or not. Follow by quaffing your fill.

When we set about brewing our wheat beer, we strictly limited ourselves to one specific idea: to make an exceptionally drinkable wheat beer. Without the distractions of extravagant brewing techniques and exotic ingredients, the result is a truly honest American Hefeweizen appropriate for any occasion. Proper.

(Bottle) Pours a hazy golden color with a foamy head. I was also under the impression that this would be a traditional German hefeweizen with a name like "Hefe Proper". Oh well.... Aroma of wheat and light clove. Taste is primarily of wheat, and without spice or really anything else. Moderate carbonation and light palate. A pretty middle-of-the-road American Wheat.

Draft at the brewpub. Poured a cloudy yellow-gold color. Thick white head with good retention and lacing. Aroma was of light grain and that’s it. Minimal acidity up front which faded quickly. There was malt flavor reminiscent of caramel and cereal grain accented by a hint of yeasty bread dough and citrus. I thought this was going to be a German hefe and it turned out to be an American wheat. What a let down.

It kind of looks like a hefe, kind of smells like one, and kind of tastes like one. There is far too much hop taste to be a genuine hefe. Disappointing beer.

Has a noticeable but not overpowering wheat aroma. The flavor is just light wheatiness with a little funk. Was imagining or hoping that it would be the German style. Oh well. Thin and acidic and citrusy, just not my bag.

Pours to a golden straw colored body that’s hazy with a thin white head. The aroma is full of cloves and wheat bread with a light lemon. The flavor is wheat with a tart acidic lemon characteristic. Simple flavors. The palate is tart and acidic with a basic wheat texture.

12 oz bottle and served my my small Ayinger weizen glass: Pours a slight hazed golden hue with a mostly lasting foamy white head and some lace. The nose does display a hint of banana and spice esters along with wheat and biscuity vapours but is a tad weak. The taste is mildly citric and lemony with a wheat and pale malt background. Short finish and not much in the spice department. This beer serves a point as a summer refresher and an entry level wheat beer, it is what it is.

Quite murky with an enticing banana color and light head. Small wheat aroma bespeaks an Am. Wheat. Simple, easy-drinking, quaffable summer refresher.

Strong baby food and yogurt aroma, off-putting. Cloudy light orange pour, thin head, and minimal lacing. The bottom of the glass was coated with a thick layer of yeast sludge. It has a sour orange taste and to a lesser extent, dough and buttermilk. It’s a little yeasty on the palate but not as bad one would expect from seeing the large amount of yeast left behind. I recommend drinking this with a straw (or not at all) to avoid upsetting the yeast deposits.
