Commercial Description:
Select wheat joins with American Hops under the careful eye of the master brewer. The result is an entirely drinkable wheat beer, refreshing, rewarding and proper for any occasion. At your whim, add a thin sliver of lemon or not. Follow by quaffing your fill.

When we set about brewing our wheat beer, we strictly limited ourselves to one specific idea: to make an exceptionally drinkable wheat beer. Without the distractions of extravagant brewing techniques and exotic ingredients, the result is a truly honest American Hefeweizen appropriate for any occasion. Proper.

A terrible wheat beer. Consistency of Jello (almost). Aroma of banana and alcohol. Lightly carbonated and thick mouthfeel. Some banana and wheatiness, but no real flavor comes out. It’s like no flavor gelatin. Sorry, Breckenridge. I just bought 4 of your beers, now I am worried.

Bottle. Pours a slightly cloudy darker yellow with a small off-white head that disappears quickly. A bit too clear and yellowish for a wheat beer. Rather weak aroma of wheat and citrus, absolutely no hint of banana or clove as would be expected from it. Flavour is malty wheat with lemon and rather weak overall. The amount of citrus flavour is rather surprising; there seems to be more hops in this than in any other wheat beer I have tried. Finish is predominantly citrus. Mouthfeel is good, with just the right amount of carbonation and has more body than the taste would suggest. Overall this is just a rather strange concoction. It’s drinkable, but a good wheat beer it certainly is not.

Pours a hazy honey yellow with a quick dying white head. The nose is lemony and wheat. The taste is an odd oily lemon and strange chemical infusion, not something I would normally seek out.

Pours a cloudy, dark yellow with a spare frothy white head. The nose is sweet citrus and light wheat. The mouthfeel is light and thin with average carbonation and a tart finish. The flavor is of lemons and wheat with a tart almost sour finish. This one is way too citric for my tastes. Adding a lemon, as the label recommends, would be total overkill.

Pours hazy light yellow with a fizzy white head. Aroma is malty and lightly hopped almost perfume, leathery esters, and hints of pineapple. Well balanced but kinda blah, plain and simple its an american wit. light bodied and watery, but refreshing on a hot day. Livley.

Cloudy pale yellow nearly the color of lemon juice with some honey-like color in the core. There is a small off-white head that disappears as quickly as it formed. The aroma has a weak pear scent to it. Mildy sweet, yet tart and tangy wheat and yeast flavor. Sour finish. Crisp and refreshing, but not overly tasty. Medium light body. Mild carbonation. 12 oz bottle, $1.00+tax (bargain bin) from the Pour House Bottle Shop in Indiana.

Poured like a hefe should - straw colored, somewhat fizzy. I get to the bottom and swirl the last inch or so of beer to stir up the yeast, and dump it in. There’s a white head, maybe 3/4" that fades quickly. So far, so good. Sadly, the best part of this beer is now past... Smell is slightly bready, slightly yeasty - but no banana clove aroma. First indication that this isn’t going to live up to expectations. Take a sip - initial sweetness that fades fast to blandness. There is a vegetal, dishsoap aftertaste. No character. Not pleasant. OK at best, but exquisitely uninspiring. Three words - Murphy’s oil soap.

I drank a 6 pack of this without realizing it. Granted there was 10 inches of snow falling with a possible 10 more to come, and I was watching a good movie, and a collusally bad one. the clearest hefe in the history of beer. Smells like so much nothing with a hint of sulphur. Tastes like an unfiltered coors, granted I like coors, and I realize the market this is aimed at, and I ain’t a part of it. Burnt lemon finish. This was worse than average, it was mediocrity that hit the bullzeye. 1 3 4 2 5
