Commercial Description:
Select wheat joins with American Hops under the careful eye of the master brewer. The result is an entirely drinkable wheat beer, refreshing, rewarding and proper for any occasion. At your whim, add a thin sliver of lemon or not. Follow by quaffing your fill.

When we set about brewing our wheat beer, we strictly limited ourselves to one specific idea: to make an exceptionally drinkable wheat beer. Without the distractions of extravagant brewing techniques and exotic ingredients, the result is a truly honest American Hefeweizen appropriate for any occasion. Proper.

Pours hazy golden yellow with a ample white head. Slight hint of a lemon that was 2 days past edible in the aroma. Or maybe it was that stuff they mop the floor with at McDonalds. Taste is mainly "Blah." Had this without a lemon ’cause I think any beer you have to put fruit in to make taste right is bad to start with. This one needed fruit.

See the picture to the left, poured EXACTLY like it (well, minus the lemon... a travesty I know), fog and all. Sweet easty taste (bits of goo from the bottle fell in do to a bad pour). Very light taste, light hop aftertaste. Low on the glass lacing, with quickly disappating head. Not bad, but nothing very special. Aroma was of some light citrus and hay, but not very strong (Bottle pour 2/26/2006)

12oz Bottle: Pours a thick foamy off-white head. Very hazy, not much visable carbonation, only haze. Aroma is of grass, wheat, lemon, and something unpleasant, not exactly sure what but not very plesant. Taste is smooth and nice, but nothing really stands out. Tastes of wheat, lemon, and a touch of skunkiness.

On tap at Jimmys Bistro/Denver Airport:: Very pale cloudy yellow with a wisp (bar pour) of white foam. Light aroma of lemon and some wheat. Flavor is lightly sweet with a hint of lemon and a little wheat finishing with a hint of banana. Light body, crisp and kinda dry. Served ICE cold and maybe that was a plus.

In the bottle. Cloudy gold with a rapidly disappating head. Outrageous sulfide aroma. In fact, the beer smelled not unlike a baby’s soiled diaper. Disgusting. Flavor was not nearly as bad except for a far too strong tartness. Pretty bad beer if this is a typical bottle.

Surely not a hefeweizen, but this is not a terrible beer. There is a light wheat taste, but that is overpowered by a strong and not unpleasant sour citrus flavor. They got the appearance right at least. I like sour beer and I am glad I at least tried this.

Smells and tastes of lemon and alcohol despite is low alcohol content. It is cloudy and doesn’t taste very good. Not a very good beer.

12oz bottle - pours golden slightly cloudy with a fluffy white head that laces quite well. Aroma is a touch of lemon over yeast. Flavor is lemon over yeast just like the aroma. Palate is light and airy.. Maybe it is the fact that I’m drinking a hefe in the same variety pack as a christmas ale that tells me I’m not real excited about this one..
