Commercial Description:
Select wheat joins with American Hops under the careful eye of the master brewer. The result is an entirely drinkable wheat beer, refreshing, rewarding and proper for any occasion. At your whim, add a thin sliver of lemon or not. Follow by quaffing your fill.

When we set about brewing our wheat beer, we strictly limited ourselves to one specific idea: to make an exceptionally drinkable wheat beer. Without the distractions of extravagant brewing techniques and exotic ingredients, the result is a truly honest American Hefeweizen appropriate for any occasion. Proper.

This one had no real elements other than appearance that you would expect to find in a Heffeweizen. Appearance was cloudy, yellow with cumulous white head. Flavour was slightly sweet with a candy

Pours cloudy yellow with thin off-white head that quickly diminishes leaving nothing. Not a hefeweizen - faint citrusy aroma. Flavor is of lemonade, and almost as sweet. Almost no aftertaste. Almost unbearable.

Tap. Pours hazy yellow with a rocky white head and spotty lacing. Malt and fragrant hop aroma. Mild orange hop flavor with a sweet malt body. Fizzy and medium bodied.

Cloudy, hazy golden yellow with a small white frothy head that doesn’t last long, no lacing either. This hefe has citrus and wheat aromas, light wheaty, and sour flavors of lemon, light in body with a watery and thin mouthfeel, finishes with a noticeable sourness, nothing to write home about.

Poures a hazy yellow, with a short bubbly white head. Aroma is that of a typical american wheat, wheat grain with a tad bit of lemon. Lazy and flat carbonation. Fairly boring and uninteresting brew. However, it is simple and drinkable, just not a beer to seek out.

The bottle poured a semi-clear golden liquid with a fizzy white head that disappeared immediately leaving no lacing what so ever. I have never experienced any beer with so little aroma. There was almost no discernable smell other than a slightly dusty, dry basement smell. It has a light body with a thin texture and soft carbonation. The flavor starts out with a light, sour fruitiness. The middle is a bit earthy and the finish, short and dry.

To me a wheat beer is like cooked rice -- bland and uninviting unless other elements are present to complement it and make it great. This wheat beer has a refreshing tang of lemon seemingly already added, making for a ready-made summer refresher. (It’s April and we all know the sultry days aren’t far ahead.) I don’t think they _really_ add lemon (though they might) -- it seems more like a clever mix of malts, or more likely specialized hops, that give a special geueze-like sour element found in more complex wheat beers to great betterment. In addition, Hefe Proper has a clean, crisp malty aroma and even pours a substantial quickly disappearing head for its style. Very well carbonated and extremely thick mouthfeel for a wheat beer. I give a very strong thumbs-up especially for those looking for summer refreshment.
