Commercial Description:
Select wheat joins with American Hops under the careful eye of the master brewer. The result is an entirely drinkable wheat beer, refreshing, rewarding and proper for any occasion. At your whim, add a thin sliver of lemon or not. Follow by quaffing your fill.

When we set about brewing our wheat beer, we strictly limited ourselves to one specific idea: to make an exceptionally drinkable wheat beer. Without the distractions of extravagant brewing techniques and exotic ingredients, the result is a truly honest American Hefeweizen appropriate for any occasion. Proper.

To me a wheat beer is like cooked rice -- bland and uninviting unless other elements are present to complement it and make it great. This wheat beer has a refreshing tang of lemon seemingly already added, making for a ready-made summer refresher. (It’s April and we all know the sultry days aren’t far ahead.) I don’t think they _really_ add lemon (though they might) -- it seems more like a clever mix of malts, or more likely specialized hops, that give a special geueze-like sour element found in more complex wheat beers to great betterment. In addition, Hefe Proper has a clean, crisp malty aroma and even pours a substantial quickly disappearing head for its style. Very well carbonated and extremely thick mouthfeel for a wheat beer. I give a very strong thumbs-up especially for those looking for summer refreshment.

Hazy blonde coloured body with a small white head. Aroma of light citrus, coriander seed and some wheat. Light-bodied; Nice tart lemon flavour with some orange and light hop flavours running strong. Aftertaste mellow and proper-good finish. Overall, a nice hefeweizen, good to try! Thanks Andy for giving me this bottle. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle pulled from a Breckenridge Sampler Pack on 28-May-2005 on the Eastern Shore of Virginia.

The aroma was of stale bread, the appearance is a slightly foggy gold. The flavor is a wow... No lemon added to mine, yet a very lemon taste sweet aftertaste, I kinda like it. Overall nice.

Bottle... Hazy, yellow ale with a small, creamy, white head. Beefy, yeasty nose with light citrus. The flavor is malty, but decently balanced... tangy and beefy as well. Medium-bodied and creamy with lively carbonation. Finishes crisp and clean. Much better than expected... not one of my favorite styles. Solid American wheat.

On tap in Denver. Nice, light offerning from Breckenridge. Typical Hefe, nothing out of the ordinary but very satisfying. Re-rate, bottle. Ar: 3 Ap: 4 F: 3 P: 1 O: 4 Pours solid, cloudy gold with a nice head and lacing. Smells of corn and weak clover with faint bits of bubblegum. Tastes of watered corn and saccharin. Watery mouthfeel. If this is proper, give me trash. MUCH better on tap.

This is a very lemony wheat beer. Aroma is citrus and herbal. Body is medium and soft, lemon citrus tang with a crisp finish. This tasted really good in the heat of our campsite in Mesa Verde

This smelled almost exactly like champage to me. Flavor is also reminiscent of champagne. Crisp and sweet with flavors of lemon and grapes. Light and slightly watery body. Nothing too terrible, but certainly nothing that great either.
