Aug 8, 2008 Draft at the brewpub. A dark brown beer with a lazing brown head. The aroma is buttery combined with notes of roasted malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of butter and roasted malt as well as a light note of oatmeal. The body is thin.

Aug 7, 2008 just the appropriate amount of roastiness here, with a creamy mouthfeel, melted dark chocolate, and a graham cracker maltiness. Very drinkable and balanced. I enjoyed it!

Aug 6, 2008 I can’t believe I haven’t rated this yet. Well, here it goes. Pours black with a nice tan head. Aroma is roasty with bitter chocolate and coffee. Taste is much the same, lots of bitter chocolate upfront and a fairly dry finish. This is drinkable and tastes pretty good as well.

Aug 1, 2008 Dark brown/black pour. Big creamy tan head that leaves nice lacing. Sweet roasty malt aroma, with a hint of cocoa and coffee. Flavor is pretty similar. Sweet and roasty, with some mocha coming through. Very creamy body. Nice and thick on the palate. Really good for a 6 pack stout!

Jul 29, 2008 Bottle. Pours tar, tan head. Aroma is malt, caramel, anise, pine, copper. Flavor is smoky, malty, papery, oily, dry, and bitter. I really fancy this stout. It’s way better than the score it receives here. The only down-side is the aroma, which is not terribly stellar.
