| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 1, 2008 Not a bad looking brew. I didn’t check the bottle, but this has only 4.95% ABV, what the hell? The beer is nice a dark. A little on the thin side with the pour. Nice somewhat chocolate head. The head is not extremely dark brown as I like it, but brown enough to where it looks decent. The head is residual, and lingers for quite awhile. Nice subtle chocolate aroma. Not a strong presence of alcohol, or coffee, but the chocolate is definitely nice. As the beer warms the chocolate aroma pours out of the beer. The coffe aroma is there, but again, it is very very subtle. This beer has a nice roasted flavor to it. Actually, there is a strong roasted flavor which I like. The beer is very bitter on the back of my tongue, but overall not a bitter beer. There is not too much of a range of flavors. The aroma was much better than the actual flavor. I taste the roast, but the sweet is overpowered but the roast, and the chocolate is not there. Plus, the alcohol is not noticeable because the ABV is low. The beer just lacks the flavor I was expecting. Not an extremely oily/creamy stout as I like. The beer is creamy, but not thick. It taste creamy on my tongue, but watered down going down my throat. I love the aroma. The appearance is average, but the flavor just brings this beer way down. I do enjoy the bittering hop in the back of my mouth. I generally don’t taste the hops in beer that well, but with this beer it is great. A good stout, but not one of my favorites. emacgee (1884), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Apr 29, 2008 Poured a reasonably nice dark black brew with a two finger creamy tan head. Fairly nice appearance. The aroma is roasty, burnt, coffee. The flavor is roasty, coffee, bittersweet bakers chocolate, light grain, burnt wood, gets a bit waxy towards the end. Starts off nice but has a slightly offensive finish and aftertaste. Not bad. obguthr (1032), Poquoson, Virginia, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Apr 26, 2008 Dark roasted oat nose. Black pour, thin yellow head. Tastes of charcoal and blackberries, with a slight plum brandy finish. Rather uninspired, but drinkable. No oompf. BOLTZ7555 (1096), Phoenix, Arizona, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Apr 24, 2008 Just not a lot about this stout that’s appealing. Appearance is average...dark brown with a descent caramel head. Subtle aroma and a flavor dominated by roasted (burnt really) coffee beans and bitterness. Thin...so many out there that are better!!! afireinside96 (836), Mountville, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Apr 22, 2008 bottle acquired in a trade with The_Captain. thanks Mark. pours a very dark brown with a one inch cap of tan head on top. smells very much like chocolate chip cookies. nice deeply roasted flavor with some dark chocolate detectable. palate it slightly on the thin side until after you swallow, then it leaves a thick sticky residue. the flavor is pretty good but I don’t know if I would drink it again due to the mouthfeel. mjg74 (1997), La Mesa, California, USA

Some coffee bitterness in there along with a little bit of sweetness. Average stout, but still enjoyable. Swalden28 (1510), McKinney, Texas, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 18, 2008 Bottle. Poured a dark brown with medium tan head with short life. Aroma was nice, dark roast with some floral notes. Flavor was of dark roasted malt thats not very heavy. Palate was somewhat water, I expected that at least the oatmeal would give it a better feel, but I was somewhat dissapointed. Overall it’s not a bad stout.....
