Commercial Description:
Rich, round and roasted, our Oatmeal Stout is satisfaction in a glass. It's a bold, smooth-bodied concoction that oozes dark-roasted coffee aromas and flavors of espresso and semi-sweet chocolate. We round out these heady pleasures with a dose of flaked oatmeal for a creamy body and a semi-dry finish. Unforgettable.

12 OZ bottle poured in a clear pint glass. Poured a deep, dark brown with a medium amount of thick tan head. Aroma was coffee, roasted barley, oats, and a slight dark chocolate. Taste is the same, but it finishes dry. I was surprised how thin the body of this brew was, especially considering its other characteristics. It also leaves in impressive, lasting lacing in the glass.

Nice dark brown beer with a bubbly tan head, leaves good lacing. Aroma of coffee and oats hit me while I poured. Hardy aroma. Flavor is the same but not quite as powerful. Where the coffee took over in the aroma, the oats take over in the taste mellowing out the flavor of the coffee. Smooth and light. Oddly thin given the aroma and the flavor, like hitting a home run with a wiffle ball bat.

Overall Impression: I don’t remember being too impressed by this one. It’s another old rating that I’ll have to try again at some point and update.

Bottle Pours a nice deep black with a lasting tan head. Produces some good lacing. Has a decent aroma of toasted chocolate, malts , coffee, and some nuts. Has a decent carbonation. The mouthfeel is okay. The flavor is good with a big oatmeal kick. Starts ou chocolaty and finishes with an oatmeal sour kick. Has a lighter body than I would have guessed. A pretty good finish with a good aftertaste.

Thick and creamy with a moderate head. Finishes a little bitter but starts out smooth. Very Dark and flavor changes to a little sweater as the beer warms in your hand.

The aroma is a little weak but there is definitely heavily toasted malt, coffee, burnt oatmeal toast, and molasses. The appearance is dark brown with a small head. The flavor is bitter with all the elements from the aroma. The palate is smooth and the finish bitter and metallic. The beer is decent overall but not great.
