BREWMUSKCLES (817), WEEHAWKEN, New Jersey, USA Jun 24, 2008 UNASSUMING straight and honest oatmeal stout. nice malt flavors a touch of cocoa with coffee. bottle ended with a touch of acid and a true burnt wood smoke flavor that was delightfully refreshing. odd as normally i hate that flavor. so satisfying with that alcohol !? this beer is well balanced and has quite a good mouthfeel that is mainly velvety. bit of raisin and cherry in the malty aroma. can’t say enough as this beer is so well put togeather.
daknole (1122), Plantation, Florida, USA Nov 28, 2008 Bottle, pretty ok. Black pour, tan head. Aroma is very roasted and toasty. Flavor is a bit drier than I prefer in stouts. Some notes of coffee and chocolate are present, but flavor is a bit over roasted to me. rcasta (339), El Salvador Nov 27, 2008 gracias aleman, birria traida desde atlanta en la casa del gordo la degustamos junto con otras durante el blackout ghawener (729), San Salvador, El Salvador Nov 26, 2008 Thanks to rcasta. Bottle: Drank during the blackout; full body, chocolaty and smokey, nicely balanced. Well crafted. nqualls (573), Tennessee, USA Nov 21, 2008 Bottle. Poured a dark black with a one finger brown head that quickly dissipated. Aroma of roasted malt and oatmeal, with a hint of bitter chocolate. Flavor has a nice coffee taste at the beginning, but withers off into not much at the finish. Body is a little thin. Good beer but not much complexity to it. Snoop59 (30), Penn Run, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 29, 2008 12 oz. bottle. Pour a deep, dark black with a light-brown head that diminishes quickly. Nice lacing. Aroma is sweet coffee and chocolate. Flavor is a dry, roasty coffee with a bitter, cocoa-like chocolaty undertone. The body is medium, almost creamy, with very light carbonation. Long, dry finish.
