| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Feb 3, 2009 Bottle from Pat’s Liquors in Porter, Indiana: It pours a clear chestnut body with a smallish beige head and produces a small amount of slippery lace. The aroma is like a malty syrup, very sweet. A very light roastiness is added to the flavor, but the sweetness is pretty well unchecked. Once was enough for this one. | 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jan 30, 2009 Pour is a dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma is a very minor roasted malt. Flavor is again a very small rosted malt and caramel. There is nothing good about this beer and its way to expensive. krysztofar (344), belleville, Illinois, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 29, 2009 12oz bottle. coppery red color. light tan head leaves thin lace. malty nose has hints of rye, vanilla, and mild toasty brown sugar. body is moderate but refreshing. many standard bock traits. sweet but not sticky. not my favorite bock, but not deserving of the harsh criticism it has been receiving here. a solid although lacking brew. cking (1019), North Canton, Ohio, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jan 27, 2009 Awesome name, cool label, mediocre/lousy Bock. I found this very similar to Genesee Bock in most regards, but I would expect more from a "craft" brewery. Very faint malt nose, bread and sugary sweetness. Cola colored body, thin wispy head and solid lacing. Medium bodied, fizzy and easy going. No aftertaste to speak of and it finishes with an odd emptiness. Bland taste that contains a hint of sweet malt familiar with a standard bock profile. The flavor is underdeveloped and empty. Bad bock Strykzone (1470), Wood River, Illinois, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Jan 27, 2009 Clever name. A mahogany beer with a nice one finger tan head. The aroma is malty with dark, but unripe, fruit and fig. Flavor is rye, spice, vanilla, sugar, toffee, and earthiness. A deep and long lasting bitter aftertaste. An interesting but not really enjoyable flavor. BVery (462), Burnsville, Minnesota, USA
