| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | May 7, 2008 Bottle. Small fizzy ivory hed that mostly diminished, one ring of lacing, transparent, lively, fast rising carbonation, and an orange hue. The nose was malty, caramel and some hops. Ditto for the flavor along with some sweetness and a dry finish. Mildly tingly mouthfeel and light-medium in body. Easy to drink, but not a great beer by any means and it did not leaving me wanting this one again. TheBeerGod (3163), Newport News, Virginia, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Jan 24, 2004 Pours a reddish brown with a medium tan head. Nose is cardboard and malt. It's very odd and hard to place but I am picking up some sort of toffee or caramel also. The tongue is very thin and almost tasteless. Some light malt, and sweetness seem to make up the bulk fo this one. There isn't much to it at all. This would be a good session beer were it not for the 7.2% abv, which is not discernable either. Decent but nothing to rave about. daknole (2981), Plantation, Florida, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Mar 20, 2009 I had high hopes for this. But the beer failed. Color is nice enough...amber. Aroma isn’t all that bad, malty and a bit fruity. Flavor is too tart and sour with no development towards a true dunkler bock. Not sure where it went wrong, but it did. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 4, 2003 Updated: Feb 21, 2008Rerate: Red-copper hue with thin lace patterns. Up front: chewy-sweet malts; toward the finish: toasted bread. Lesser notes of nuts and toffee. Only slightly cloying. Sweetness is on the verge of being too much. Hops offer nice and gentle aromas and a mild bitterness. Overall, not bad; much better than my last rating. michael-pollack (2713), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Jan 21, 2009 16 oz. - $5.75 at Taco Mac in Kennesaw, Georgia.
Appearance: Clear, brown body with a small, foamy, off-white head. Patchy lacing throughout.
Smell: Questionably boozy nose of figs and grape skins with sweetish, grainy malts coming in second.
Taste: Sweet caramel overlaying a pale, grainy maltiness. Fruity flavors of figs and grape skins. Touch of alcohol heat. Predominately spicy hops with a medium bitterness. Finishes bittersweet with a lingering alcohol heat that you can never seem to shake.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation. Sticky mouthfeel.
Drinkability: Not so good. Breckenridge opened a beer that contained true evils to be unleashed upon all mankind — ills, toils and even sickness — and finally hope. Yes, hope. Hope that my next beer will be far, far better.
