Head is initially small, frothy, off-white to light brown, mostly diminishing. Body is clear medium to dark amber. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (caramel), trace hops (flowers). Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, syrupy texture, lively carbonation. Very little of interest in the nose, and needs more to balance the syrupy sweet malt. Can’t recommend it. beerguy101 (3946), Newark, California, USA

Small to medium sized beige foamy head, with decent retention. The aroma is caramel, bready and sweet. A light to medium bodied dunkel bock. The malts are bready and sweet. The hops are floral and earthy. A touch thin and a little under-carbonated. A little bland. This beer needs to be way maltier. Hides the alcohol well. Mouthfeel is a touch thin. The finish is crisp and clean. Aftertaste is slightly sweet. unclemattie (2430), Georgia, USA

Aroma of rich malt, fresh brownies, slight citrus leans toward the posibility of a pleasantly hoppy brew. strange sweet candy flavors, date sugar, some citrus. I’m sure this would be much better on tap. so far, not my favorite Bock. Thin body, although the flavor is a bit more full. LinusStick (1847), Moon Twp, suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA

Pour was a nice dark gold with a 2 finger off white head. Taste was disappointing. Strong sugar and caramel that feels like it’s leaving behind a film in your mouth. Not much carbonation and a sweet syrupy aftertaste. Blah. cking (1041), North Canton, Ohio, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jan 27, 2009 Awesome name, cool label, mediocre/lousy Bock. I found this very similar to Genesee Bock in most regards, but I would expect more from a "craft" brewery. Very faint malt nose, bread and sugary sweetness. Cola colored body, thin wispy head and solid lacing. Medium bodied, fizzy and easy going. No aftertaste to speak of and it finishes with an odd emptiness. Bland taste that contains a hint of sweet malt familiar with a standard bock profile. The flavor is underdeveloped and empty. Bad bock ScottyP (314), Brentwood, Tennessee, USA

Very sweet aroma with caramel, toasted malt and a touch of vanilla and alcohol. Sweet fruity flavors. light raspberries and pears. Not very becoming for a bock. Finishes with a touch of bitterness and a bit of alcohol. Seems simple.
