I thought for sure they’d accidentally poured the vanilla porter for me, but no...this is apparently their interpretation of the Poor Richard recipe. Quite unlike any of the other three I’ve had, and certainly the most enjoyable. ’Cause let’s face it...that recipe wasn’t so much for a good beer as it was for historical interest. BeerandBlues2 (2379), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA Feb 5, 2006 Draught at 2220 Blake Street. Pours black with a medium frothy tan head, mostly diminishing. Aroma is dark roasted malt (grain, meal) and molasses, caramel and trace yeast with light fruit hop notes. Medium sweet caramel and corn, malt with notes of pear and apple, slightly sour leathery yeast finish. Dark bodied and thin but creamy palate. This is definitely the darkest Poor Richards Ale I’ve seen, not that I’ve seen many.
